Hi Bro & Sis,
1) My Civic (2.0cc) end 2012, last batch of Gen 8.5, millage 14,000km.
When I full tank & 0 up millage, drive 2 days, pump & measure, I just noticed it cost me at 21-23 cents per km, is it a normal?

2) Anyone can advised how to modify to make boot trunk to open via remote?

3) OEM-Dashboard Build (DVD GPS), how much & is it better then original 6CD?
I enjoy watching news while driving

U may contact Mr Jack
If Civic Gen 8 or Gen 8 FL, should buy 8 inch (Taiwan) bcoz 7 inch is China
GPS devided into 2, 1 is ori & another 1 is immitation (non updatable)

http://www.mudah.my/Honda+civic+oem+dvd+pl...on-23176763.htm

Do u know Why my Civic 2.0 Gen 8.5 (2012) Fuel Compsumption is so high 22-25 cents /km
Long distance is only RM17.5cents
is it normal?

This thread is dedicated for 9 gen civic but you are asking 8 gen question. 8 gen 2.0 civic is still using K series engine which is known for top end power, but not as fuel efficient as R series engine. For 8 gen 2.0, 21-23 cents per km is normal for city driving (remember measuring using cents/km is not accurate as fuel price will have fluctuation from time to time). However, I believe for 9gen 2.0, fuel consumption will be much lower for both city and highway drive. A constant 110kmh highway drive, 9gen 2.0 can achieve 16.7km/l or around 12-13cents/km with RM2.10 per litre.

1st of all, I full tank & 0 the millage
1-2 days later, I drop at petrol pump to full tank

Measurement City Drive
Example : millage 122km & full tank RM31.88
RM31.88/126km = 0.2530 cents per km

Measurement Long Distance Drive
Example : millage 350km & full tank RM60.20
RM60.20/350km = 0.172 cents per km

Very accurate test

Can I know which 1 is better
Gen 8 vs Gen 9?
No Bias Pls

Y Hyndai & KIA model similar with VW & Audi?
I was made to understand Korean get same designer with VW & Audi, so that their design so attrative.
Honda & Toyota didn't design themselves but they out source to designer company to do so.
May be bcoz of that, it happened to be the same
Anyhow, T & H the designer always emphasis on DNA (T&H)

But Altis 2014 look more sexy & it is a waited model

Bro,
Pls go & check the original from the manufacturer can play DVD while the car is moving?
Bcoz the government rule is that, the monitor should not be seen while u are driving for safety purpose.
In fact, the manufacturer didn't build Tuner for TV bcoz they ll get headache when customer complaint on poor receiver.

The OEM (many manufacturers, many players) they compete 1 another & they don't have to go through automobile company to again mark up the price. Basically the player is about the same.
If I were u, I ll buy out side from OEM company bcoz they build for Toyota, Honda & many more Cars.
U ve alternative to get:
i) Ori GPS or Non Ori (ori Map is upgradable but non ori depend, some can some cannot)
ii) Double Din has got many OEM player like China (mostly 7 inch), Taiwan (mostly 8 inch) & Korean with Android system
iii) Pls ensure it is plag & play type (not wiring cutting)

How to identify plug & play or wire cutting?
If the casing sell separately or non TV Tuner, Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer or any popular brands, mostly wire cutting (ur vehicle ll feel pain, as well as owner heart)
If no brand & dash board build with button in casing, that is OEM (plug & play) + with Tuner features.
Blue tooth Atenta seem convenience (remove ori player, replace with OEM player & paste the Blueetooth antena all done.

8 inch Taiwan OEM dashbuild Player (Tuner, GPS non-ori & DVD) + Installation + TV Antena (Bluetooth type) RM1,100.00 Only.
8 inch Taiwan OEM dashbuild Player (Tuner, GPS Ori & DVD) + Installation RM1,100 but Blue tooth antena RM70-RM80
Revrse Camera RM100-RM150 only

Again, don't go for Ori Honda Double Din bcoz RM5K too expensive but buy out side
RM1,200 - RM400-500 sold ur old 1, add on RM800
Anyway, up 2U to decide Bro

Thanks M3White. Appreciated.

At first, I want to buy 1.8 but the features offered oledi killing me. Then last 2 weeks I tested my friend's 1.8 car & I feel 1.8 is under power when want to potong other car.. feel berat.
I think Civic made for 2.0 same like accord..made for 2.4.
The best rebate that I got is 6k for all civic model. Maybe I need to wait until m'sia budget 14 next week. Let's see.

Bro,
If u really wanna buy, It is a good choice to get:
i) Aft next week budget, in case they drop the price, but I dont think so bcoz it is a revenue to government. May be Hybrid incentive bcoz 31/12/2013 (expired 2 years free tax), might extend
ii) Buy year made 2014, in case missing or total lost, u ll get better compensation. Resell & loan also give big impact
iii) Wait for "Gen9.5" or "Gen 9 FL" (Europe Spec)
Honestly, Civic always a Hot Cake & long waiting list without discount, but Gen 9 is failure model (based on international report, less then 3 mths launched in US, recall 50,000 units, India Plant Shutting down due to low market).
CEO admitted due to low cost build up to compete & material can be recycle aft 3-5 years, but Msia not happene like that, we buy for 20 years.
Luckilly I got mine end 2012 (2.0cc), Gen 8.5 (FL), Twin Cam, powerful
Many friend ask to buy from me

I experience both & personally feel Gen 8.5 more power compared to Gen 9
HP is on paper.
Anyway, it's just a forum chat, don't be too emotional
If u are happy with Gen 9, go & buy

Cheers Bro,
Which words that showed I'm emotional? haha
Anyway, I just curious when people said Gen 8 more powerful than Gen 9 because it's DOHC.

But the info from Honda showed, HP is same for both while torque Gen 9 have extra 2 than Gen 8.
Please elaborate, saya budak baru belajar.

However, Civic US aka gen9.5(perhaps) is gorgeous. Anybody have info, it this version coming to m'sia or not?
