Hi guys,
Got a question with the mobile plan here. I saw starhub has this "Caller Number Display" which is $5+ a month. Is this normal? I have never seen charges like this before...so we basically have to pay $5 a month in order to see the caller's number?
So if I don't pay the fee does that mean i won't be able to see the caller's number
There's a few things they tend to itemize in Sg where we are used to it being packaged by default in Malaysia. One if it is Caller ID, another one is roaming (although you can now choose pay-as-you-roam). Years ago, it was still possible to get charged for incoming calls. Even today they list "all day free incoming calls" as a feature.
But I see it as something positive as you can actually reduce your bill if you don't want to pay for it. Just that in My, it's already part of the monthly subscription and you can't take it out. So they tell you it's free.
On the flip side, the handset subsidies are really high, free minutes and free SMS is quite generous even with the cheap plans and some value added services like Multi-SIM are a steal. Data is also damn cheap compared to My.
