Thanks Alot for your information,. what I concern more to the fuel consumption, since there is no much different, I think I will go for it.

Actually I haven't buy the car yet, I m just surveying which car is better for the car ranging from 50k to 70k. I saw the price of 2010 sx ranged from 65k to 70k in mudah.my. I might be get one upon July.
*
if that's your budget then should be fine but if u can push your budget to the 86k range just get the new 2012 1.6 sx, worth it with the reverse camera, bluetooth + paddle shifters alone..

hi guys....
my wife is considering forte. We would like to find out how is the fuel consumption? 1 full tank petrol can travel how far KM?.....is there a facelift coming soon?
thanks.....any advice from you guys would be very much appreciated...
*
dont bet on that good a FC if u drive in city area often..in highway still ok, but depends on right foot again..i'm not getting that good FC mix 30% city 70% highway only can get about 9.7-9.8L/100KM..but i'm quite heavy footed and drive fast quite often..so to be expected..if FC really concern, just get vios or honda city...

i see, dishonest SA driving to give false information ....  sad.gif
*
well either the SA is trying to give you false information or he just misled you, some people call that panic button alarm but to me it isn't..but luckily my SA told me all this beforehand and I already checked around before I bought the car, knowing that there's no alarm. So asking around is a good thing also to learn more about a car you're about to buy.

i asked him, will the alarm sound when someone tries to break in the car, he said yes.....  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif
*
that's clearly a lie..unless he is saying if you buy the forte from him, he will get the alarm retrofitted from the SC..which could happen too..if not mistaken that costs about RM 400 or so to get it retrofitted, no warranty will void..stock forte built in no alarm

That bad? We be driving in the city most of the time including daily traffic jam to work every morning. Do you think is not advisie to get this car?
*
Like i said, if u want good FC forget about this car, it wont give u good FC in city for sure...if heavy traffic can go 10-11L/100KM for sure..dun dream on good FC with this C segment car, heavy weight. Vios will suit your needs more.

yes it is very subjective but usual driving to work won't really yield good results unless you're travelling on highway with little to no traffic jams. compare this to driving a manual car or myvi, i think myvi will definitely get better FC due to better power to weight ratio of the car and engine as well.

i would not recommend someone forte if FC is really something important....

well alarm is annoying actually..if u stay in landed property or your car is very near your office where your alarm can be heard then OK. If not, i think kinda useless cos nobody really care if your alarm bising also.

My own experience: I used to have a car with sensitive alarm that park near a open housing area and walk an distance to my office. One day I found my car full of deep scratches after a rainy thunder day, where I believe the alarm triggered by thunder irritated someone there that caused that happen to my car... cry.gif

I do believe if the theft really want to break in your car they can do it without trigger the alarm. It may just take them couple of steps before hand.
*
ouch. what car were you driving back then?

Then your mind is pretty much set already.
Your justification is based on 2:
1. D-CVVT engine
2. Leather seats

Roughly same price doesn't mean same spec in general.
Slightly more expansive doesn't mean better in general spec.

Sissy legs will later become jelly legs as you can't run away from traffic jam. U will feel the pain once you are in a jam.
*
agreed. the main selling point for elantra at the moment is the D-CVVT engine, other than that nothing really special honestly. Forte is still the better buy overall and after driving manual for almost 10 years, i'm tired..that's why got the forte which is auto smile.gif

Hi everybody, just want to share my experience. I was only 2 to 3 days late and had to pay for the labour charge. The person told me "semua dah automatic billing, so he cannot change anything'. So better to go earlier even if your mileage have not reached the intended target! Or else be prepared to be charged labour fees if still on warranty.
*
har? wtf first time i heard this! i went to Kinrara SC last time and they said can even delay up to 1 month if u din reach mileage yet, which SC is this? looks like u might be kena cheated

Hi guys, question about the warranty

I read in the first post that it's 2 years from Naza, then 3 years from Allianz
How does that work?

My first time considering a new car, never had manufacturer warranty before
When sending for service, do you still pay the normal charges? (engine oil, filter, etc)
Warranty only covers if something spoils?
*
nothing different for the warranty other than the 3 years from allianz is an extended warranty, everything else is pretty much same including parts that is covered under the warranty. you will get a document mentioning what is covered and what is not within 1-6 months after you get your car. For service, yes you have to pay normal charges of course including labour (after you've used up the first 3 free labour charge vouchers given to you).

For warranty, yes it only covers if something is spoilt of course - that's how warranty works. What were you expecting? tongue.gif
