QUOTE(Duke Red @ Feb 4 2012, 01:36 AM) It's fine to have a soft spot for other teams. About 5 years back, there was a poll comducted in England to identify who fans supported as a second club and Liverpool emerged second behind West Ham. Then again this wasn't an official poll. Point is many fans have second clubs who they follow or have a soft spot for. The clubs I've followed since I started supporting Liverpool are West Ham, Newcastle and Spurs. Liverpool and Arsenal... |

The only team i support other than liverpool is harimau malaya.
I did have a soft spot for arsenal last time but they have become an academy in the last few years. They have been developing young players only to see them leave for barca and city. This post has been edited by Rotuham: Feb 4 2012, 03:07 AM |

QUOTE(xMika @ Feb 4 2012, 02:19 AM) I have a soft spot for Newcastle Utd (few years back la during Alan Shearer era) and I used to not watch games between Newcastle and Liverpool haha .. now stupid Rugi dude. The "Kings of the Castle" series was epic as we beat them 4-3 twice. The win over them in 1996 is still touted as the best Premier League game ever. Here's something of interest to note. We haven't won as much silverware as our rivals in recent years but we've been involved in some of the best games to date. Aside from the Premier League, the 5-4 UEFA Cup win over Alaves is thought by many to be the most exhilarating final ever. How many times have you seen a final churn out 9 goals from open play? Here's a letter from an Alaves fans 10 years after we played that final. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/576666-...-uefa-cup-final Need I even mention Istanbul? It's listed amongst the top 10 sporting comebacks of all time on many sites. Notice I said "sporting" comebacks and not just "football" comebacks. Also, I doubt you'll ever see the kind of support our lads received when you're losing. The half-time rendition of YNWA was Spine chilling. I urge you all to read this. http://thekop.liverpoolfc.tv/_IT-IS-MORE-T...429/173471.html Best fans? If Istanbul is anything to go by, then yes, you won't find a more loyal or passionate bunch of supporters and there's proof. You won't find another occasion in which so much attention was paid on the fans. QUOTE(bitebug @ Feb 4 2012, 02:45 AM) It always confuses me when I see a car decked in both Liverpool and Man Utd colors. I've seen it about 3 times.Added on February 4, 2012, 9:17 amThe media has been giving the issue of racism a lot of attention focusing on us in particular. Well wonder what they'll make of this then? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-16882078 So now all mancs are racist? The way they've generalized us, it would appear that it's only fair to assume to. This post has been edited by Duke Red: Feb 4 2012, 09:17 AM |

am really looking forward towards this upcoming match against tottenham, especially so since the last lesson we received at their ground.
despite spurs being in fine form, i think it's a good time to meet them on the pitch, with their manager busy will all the court cases and stuff. i think harry has the tendency to be disillusioned, with all his explanations in the court cases and on his team, claiming his team has been operating on a very tight budget and still doing very well. doing well, yes. tight budget? they registered 25 players in the latest squad and have 24 players out on loan, which practically makes spurs the biggest squad in the league. redknapp didn't really unearth many gems, he just dug out loads of rocks and scraped a gem or two from tons of failures, and lends the rest to others. modric and bale are still the players to watch, but with suarez and gerrard back in the team i sincerely believe we can get some result at anfield. |

If we can contain Bale and Modric, we hav the upper hand. Lets hope KD can get some one to frustrate the fast paced Bale and the elusive Modric.
Carroll can still notch some high balls onto Suarez path. It was a smart move to ask Suarez to start his ban early so that he is fresh and available for this hardest match of the lot. We have beaten MU and MC recently, i see no reason why we cant beat Spurs. |

something interesting I found out.
In Champions League, R. Madrid won the the first trophy permanently. Then there was a second designs and 5 teams won it. They were: 1. Real Madrid (the first awarded of a second design) 2. Ajax. 3. Bayern Munchen. 4. AC Milan 5. Liverpool Coincidentally, we won the fifth cup, kept permanently the 5th issue of the Champions League cup before the rules were permanently changed forever in 2009. 2. Ajax (second design 1st 3. Bayern Munchen 4. Milan 5. Liverpool Coincidentally, we were the 5th team to win the 5th trophy, before the new rules implemented in 2009 did not allow winners to hold the cup. now, the original cup is on display and held PERMANENTLY. Even if you win the Champions League now, the most you get is a replica. In the past, you would be able to keep it for 10 months, but in the new format? Its just for shows. Ha ha! |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Feb 4 2012, 02:29 PM) something interesting I found out. Not entirely true.In Champions League, R. Madrid won the the first trophy permanently. Ha ha! http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/se...ophy/index.html The current trophy is just the 5th version of the 2nd design. If it is considered as replica, then the one Liverpool keep (4th version of 2nd design) is also a replica because the original (1st version of the 2nd design) was kept by Ajax. But you are right to say Liverpool will be one of the few to actually keep an original, meaning nobody else apart from the 5, not even Barcelona if they win 10 seasons in a row, will be able to do so again. PS: I think Real only keep 1, which is the 1st design. After UEFA decided to retire the 1st design, it was given to Real to keep since by that time, they had already won it 6 times. So in a list: Real = 1.1 Ajax = 2.1 Bayern = 2.2 Milan = 2.3 Liverpool = 2.4 Current = 2.5 |

If we were to keep spurs 5star attack at bay,we need spearing back.
I said before the man united game that we needed spearing. We didnt have him on the day and as a result we were dominated by old timers. I fear for our defence if adam plays.Spurs have fastest attack in the league above united, chelsea, arsenal and even man city. Like some above,i would feel more confident if kelly played instead of johnson to contain bale. This post has been edited by Rotuham: Feb 4 2012, 06:28 PM |

will KD utilise Carroll as a Holding Midfielder since Suarez is back to win the ball over from Modric since he have the height and strength as he is young compared to Spearing
