I just use his standard ( Ed-2.zip)  - never like those tweaked themes ( the robert.zip)

The S1 is a poor performance phone - I have used it before. Even I change to ext4 with voodoo and all cooked roms - it still lags. You cannot compare it with the Note. Like comparing a 3000 cc car with a 1600 cc car
The SI is the worst android phone I have ever used. See my signature what androids I have ever used before. Even my HD2 on Android outperform it

Added on February 5, 2012, 10:26 am
Root it and have CWM installed - do a nandroid backup . It is the best as it backup your rom plus all your apps/data/settings etc exactly as it is at point of backup. And restoring it will give you back exactly the state it was in

Titanium only backup apps/data associated with apps. It can only function in a working phone NOt a dead phone
Nandroid is FULL backup 100% of ROM and all your apps/data/settings and it works when your phone is dead and cannot be successfully bootup. Just boot into recovery mode and you can restore. So this is one major advantage of rooting and have CWM recovery installed

It is freaking easy just to root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
As long as you can read English. Read it twice and read it again the 3rd time - this time jot down the steps in your own flowchart. Even my friend 12 year old can root n flash roms just by reading it , doing it for his father !!!. HE DOES NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND MOST OF IT BUT HE KNOWS HOW TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS STRICTLY TO THE DOT. And one of the kernel developer at XDA is only A 12 year old KID !!!

sorry, i'm not sure for this, may be other sifu can guide you.. the app was my daughter pandai2 installed.. and maxis bill told me that is the app..

for my note, cause i'dont really understand which rom for which kernel or vice versa, so i just stay at LA4 now.. and the phone can last me 16 hours is more than enough for my daily use.. I use a lot on wi-fi, packet data when no wi-fi, GPS, and taking photo..

As long as you are happy with present rom, not really necessary to change. LA4 is I would say to date is the best build

Added on February 5, 2012, 11:29 amBTW I tested LDroid rom ( LA6) with Abyss 3.6 kernel - not suitable as phone keeps rebooting after on/about 10 minutes idle. looks like some incompatible issue here. I never faced such reboot issues before in all the roms I have tested

QUOTE(Lucius <3 @ Feb 5 2012, 12:16 AM)
Is this note is good for video playback? I love movies and I do watch movies on my captivate from time to time but it is kind of small and like i said, note caught my attention. So basically I want to know, can this note plays mkv video format? I mean those 720p movies? Is it smooth?
Excellent playback. I use Diceplayer and play 720p and 1080p mkv files on my Wifi network streamed from my local server. Very smooth.

QUOTE(Lucius <3 @ Feb 5 2012, 12:16 AM)
Secondly in terms of browsing, I know the browsing is good on note based on the reviews on the internet, but I want to know how is the browsing experience when you have a lot of apps and data on your note? Based on my experience on my captivate, it is smooth at first but then it gets a little laggy after awhile, even with flash is on demand or off.
I do light browsing. It's fine and smooth for me. I use Dolphin browser.

QUOTE(Lucius <3 @ Feb 5 2012, 12:16 AM)
Im not so concern about the battery life as I can deal with it, anyway how about glass resistance? As far as I know, it is not gorilla glass as there is no official confirmation from samsung though few people claimed it to be. Anyway how is the overall smoothness of the phone after been using it for awhile? Would be nice if i get answers from users with many apps and thousands of messages on the note.
What do you mean it does not have gorilla glass? hmm.gif Please do your own checking first before believing what other people are saying...

Directly from Corning® Gorilla® Glass website...

QUOTE(eric138 @ Feb 5 2012, 09:58 AM)
lol... Ur long story short makes me headache.. But as long as it comes with solution then it is alright...
You don't have to worry about getting the phone to root to make the phone run properly. As it is, the phone is smooth and very enjoyable to use. BTW, I'm still not rooted. Don't see the need to yet.

QUOTE(mdnurman @ Feb 5 2012, 10:31 AM)
wanna know why its a big project? bcoz of it is a RM2299 phone. once kong, it will be the most expensive paper weight on ur desk. if it's a RM200... can buy 1, test and kong, throw away and buy another RM200 phone. Me myself, I read from the V1 until lastly decide to buy my GNote in Dec 2012. With the stories told, I bought 5-yr warranty as a precaution.
No offence but I think 5 year warranty on a phone is a little bit overdone. You will still use the same phone after 5 years?

If it could be download, where would it save it?

can, you can download PDF file and read it by using note

but then i dont get it " transfer the file to another website means ?
If u mean Upload the file to website , it's no problem , im always upload my file to 2shared.com from my g.note .

It will save at "download" there . if you using yr note to download the file . No need apps needed .

from ACE I think you'll be happy with Note. Tried my sis Note before didn't feel any lags.
Plus you can get OTA update on Note thumbup.gif
