QUOTE(ckseng @ Jan 28 2012, 09:17 AM) Read from the owner forum 308 seem like got issue on the engine. Some owner claim the sc need to change few critical part from the engine and it cost a bomb but lucky is under warranty. Not sure the normal one got issue or only the turbo version anyone can confirm this? can't seem to find any info regarding this.. i dun wanna spend another lump sum for repair after spending so much on the car.. >.<

TS, Dun let d ol tech n 4-speed transmission let u down. D Latio Sports(d 'Sports' is really a gimmic n not really sporty other than looks unless in Impul guise) actually provides slightly less usability than a sedan but more than most hatchbacks.
Has a large interior compared to any other hatch (if ignore d Focus) n d rear sliding seat bench is a bonus for hatchback owners. Its not a fair contender against d Fiesta's driveability or d Polo n 308 Turbo's power since it focus on practicality n ease of ownership.
As for Contis, their cars r into built quality, driveability n fun. But due to foreign exchange n logistics reasons its natural for certains parts to cost more or require longer time to acuire.

QUOTE(Bliz @ Jan 27 2012, 09:22 PM) The suspension settings are too hard but still the car floats on the road like a boat Hm, so the suspension can't take fast bumps (like potholes, speed bumps etc.) but slow ones will bring it out of shape? Like suspension not fast enough?

It due to timing belt out of spec and of problem continue most problem it kill the engine piston. Read this from owner forum but can't find back the link. I not sure this problem fix already or not on the new car.

the most appreciated feature for the owners is the fact that latio is very spacious. can sit at the back like a boss. no more crampy legs after a long drive.
and contrary to what people say, i found that the handling is quite fun. if u feel that the car is too high, then get it lowered and fit with eibach or tein. get K&N air filter and new exhaust and you're good
the fc is very good too... and no problem whatsoever

QUOTE(Bliz @ Jan 27 2012, 06:46 PM) No doubt the NVH is good, but the car's handling sucks to the max, floaty and bumpy as well YEs the Latio's NVH is good. But if you drive this car at high speeds often say around 160-190km/h or sometimes even at 110kmh,the car floats all over the highway. Its not stable and you wont have the confidence to drive this latio at 150kmh. The suspension is weird and the steering feels LOOSE.This car is just not meant for fast driving. For slow drives around town, this car is perfect. But on the highway, totally fail. Obtw, the Latio's steering feel remind me of the lousy steering on Forte. But the Latios is slightly better than the Forte. This post has been edited by kevin23: Mar 14 2012, 09:50 PM

It is using Electronic Power Steering. For sure it is lighter and easier to turn compare to others. It's not running on Hydraulic

The Latio steering is using EPS not Hydraulics power steering so the steering will feel to light and loose. I still prefer Hydraulics power steering. Better road response.
Actually if u drive on the highway the car didnt feel floating but i never drive over 160km/h before la

With EPS, you will definitely feel the steering is much lighter compared to Hydraulics. Some people will complain when the steering heavy, now with the Eps, People tends to compare the handling sucks. The handling is not sucks but you will have a lighter steering only. You should try other new cars though.

At first u will feel uneasy with it but slowly ur body will able to adjust itself.
After sometime, try to drive the car with hydraulics power steering. You will be thinking this car got power steering or not. So heavy.

After drive the car for sometimes, it will need maintenance. How about the maintenance? Is the price for parts same as other Jap cars or more expensive? General foremen will know how to fix this Latio or always need to send to Nissan SC? Is it easy to find car parts?
