QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ Feb 15 2012, 08:14 PM) I just get it from xda, run it and now using option 5. Not bad. Added on February 15, 2012, 8:18 pm QUOTE(Besanth @ Feb 15 2012, 08:12 PM) Wow, doesn't your phone ever lag or when click Home button take long time to load? So many application shortcuts & widgets Except after overloading my phone then will. Maybe opening webpages that consist of huge flash game or tonnes of pictures. It won't gone completely. Just take a second or two to show up. Last time haven't use supercharger V6 then after browsing full webpage(Facebook, tonnes of pictures perhaps, desktop version). If press home then launcher completely gone. Need wait 10++seconds to reload everything. Aiya... Just put there la. easy mah. App drawer I don't like messy. All put into folder. QUOTE(arct @ Feb 15 2012, 10:13 PM) hi all! im new to smartphones, and may wanna get one. currently interested with galaxy w. i've read alot of reviews online, and i've read thru the pinned post of this thread (4 threads in fact! in just a few months You can see quite a bit of ppl complaining here. But normally no problem ppl won't come complain, maybe won't even come this thread. So it's hard to judge. I've used it for a month. No prob so far.pardon my ignorance on smartphones but its hard for me to go through each post in these threads, i've only read the first few pinned by TS. anyway, is there anything i should be aware/know regarding this model? i mean, so far i see no huge problem with this phone (from online reviews, etc), but sellers at my area warned me about the quality of this phone. one shop told me there's prob with the speakers (or earphone im not sure), another told me to watch out for 1st batch of phones (claimed that 1st batch has bad build quality and asked me to wait for 2nd batch and stuffs like that), truth is, i dont know which is true. plus not many shop carry this model in my area, most of them either say they dont have stock or the display unit is the last one. anyway TLDR: a newb getting touchscreen smartphone for the first time, wanna know is it safe to get this model at this time? thanks all! |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Feb 16 2012, 05:16 PM) Personally I always set max at 1.4ghz using OnDemandX. This setting give me max battery. Erm... Teach teach me how to prevent my clock (Samsung digital clock) widget from getting stuck on Go Launcher? And how to prevent when i press 'Clear Memory'(The stock clear memory), it won't kill 'Swype'. Everytime I clear memory then it reverts back to samsung keypad. A bit annoying. If I am doing CheatEngine hack or anything intensive, I will use 1.8ghz, still on OnDemandX. I tested MinMax too, this governor is very strange, but should give you max performance, but at the same time, second best battery. If you use this, you can see in CPU time slice that the freq only between lowest and max, hence, MinMax. Meaning, your CPU either lowest (ie 245mhz) or max (ie: 1.4ghz). Added on February 16, 2012, 5:21 pm +1 thanks for always testing my ROM too! Thanks Me now normally using 1GHz. Lagless. Better for gaming with lower power consumption too. But gaming I mean is just like Samurai Vengence II, Gun Bros, where's my water, asphalt 5(Failed to get 6:Adrenaline. Lazy search for...). If more intensive one then I don't know. Blood and glory got same probl as many ppl here. Touch screen not reacting. My homebutton also not reacting in fact. Only power button functioning. Btw, how to get a theme for zeam launcher? Downloaded the launcher and it's so clean... I should say... it's nothing at all. No icons at all on homescreen. This post has been edited by IwanAGP: Feb 16 2012, 07:21 PM |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Feb 17 2012, 10:53 AM) my replied lost... i ll reply again: when you Clear Memory memory, app got killed. Read the text before you press that button! the thing is, some widget are smart, they auto-restart when got killed, some are not. some widgets are designed to work with the launcher. so, launcher will restart them when they got killed. for example, in TwLauncher, if you Clear Memory. Digital Clock 'stuck', but Dual Clock will still work. That is because Dual Clock will be restarted by TwLauncher. If you want to use GO Launcher, use GO widget, Go Launcher will restart those if they ever get killed. Zeam support theme? I duno, u go ask cloakt lar, he made it. Will look into that if I want to use go launcher. I just like samsung digital clock more than go widget's clock. |

QUOTE(Amroth @ Feb 18 2012, 03:29 AM) SE xperia arc over W: W got Gorilla la. Gsmarena say it's gorilla. But i've proven it's pretty scratch resistant. MY left upper part of my phone, just above the screen. Don't know got scratched by what. A little little scratch. And that scratch sort of 'extends' to the edge of my screen protector so... A little scratch on my screen protector too. But my screen protector not perfectly aligned. A little gap between the plastic gap and my screen protector. And the 'Glass' part within the gap remain unscratched. Hell I don't know how I scratched it. 1mm scar on my W. -bigger screen + scratch resistant -higher resolution screen (a little bit) -better camera (8MP) -HDMI port -official ICS 4.0 support Galaxy W over arc: -bigger internal memory usable (1,7gb vs 320mb) -faster processor -bluetooth 3.0 -cheaper (~rm200) cheers The plastic used by samsung really low grade compared to those used in HTC(sort of rubberized on my friend's desire S and in Nokia(not newer polycarbonate but old ones I mean). My Nokia 1208 screen, plastic one. Tapi no scratch at all after 2.5years. My N82 also whole plastic one. The backcover is super glossy type somemore... Also no scratch at all over 2 year + 8 months. |

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Feb 18 2012, 11:47 PM) Wow nice...Im still considering wanna try it or not...So after u use it there's no software changes made Erm... It changed the 'Clear Memory'. It still looks the same. In fact, everything remain 'looked' the same. But when you press that 'Clear Memory'. Everything got cleared. Cleared until your ram usage drop to 12X or 16X MB, including launcher. That's why I never press it again. Haha... Besides that, pretty nice.to your system? means the script no touching your apps/data/settings....?? I assume you follow this one : XDA Forums Added on February 19, 2012, 12:01 amBtw, If anyone of you were to Root, but not to go for custom rom yet. I noted something... I used setcpu to downclock my cpu frequency. Guess what... If the min frequency you lower it to 122MHz, your music will get scattered once every few seconds. I thought is a problem with the player and I thought only the max frequency matters. At first I put the max back to 1.4GHz(from 800MHz/1GHz). It still scatters... Then I'm thinking maybe music player ain't need that much of power and it might go min... Then I increased from 122 to 2XX. It then become perfectly fine... Weird? But that's the thing. QUOTE(wajahebat @ Feb 19 2012, 12:02 AM) Oh its just changed the RAMmanagement i assume....?? Now average i got free memory is 130MB - 140MB... When it clears memory, it has 200MB free ram or more. But soon all the background thing will be opened back, which consumes resources. That's why I didn't clear memory now.Ermm no lags ever detected...Except if I use Android Assistant to clear memory....So i think better stay with stock now..hihi |

Confirm since system folder is in root of the root folder(if you get what I mean).Root first bro, its easy...After that you'll feel the magic QUOTE(auhckw @ Feb 19 2012, 12:23 PM) Pardon some noobish question, never used a Android phone b4. Screen res different? Tonnes of phone using 800*480 resolution including S2, Nexus S, HTC Desire S, etc etc etc. But it's different from Note or Galaxy nexus which are AMOLED HD of resolution 1280*800 or 1280*720.I am considering W or Note. Question, 1) I noticed the screen resolution is different so will 3rd party app/games scale nicely on it? 2) Is Papago running smooth in W? 3) Is W processor good enough to play most games? Are there any games that it cannot play because require faster processor like Note/Nexus? How will I know the app/games is not compatible with W? Thanks ahead for the reply Anyway, since you have the budget for Note, go all the way for it. W and Note is two totally different class. Got money, sure go for note. Only if you think you will underutilise Note, then go for W. I warn you first. If you want pure smooth operation, 1GB Ram is almost compulsory(on stock rom). 512MB for W is really insufficient. Besides that, if you're looking at 1080p playback on phone, forget W. It can't. Papago is smooth in W but it has FC(force close) issue on W. Actually most of the game can be handled by W except those designed for tegra or not designed for Adreno 205. Else mostly playable. Lag? Yes! Due to lack of RAM. If you want no hassle, buy and forget, get Note la. Or S2 |
