i did consider canon 100mm f/2,8. but the lens that i borrowed from my brother in law wasnt impressive at all. considering the price tag compared to both tamron and sigma..

Did you mean the 100L or non-L? I have a friend of mine, 100L definitely is the best choice you can get. It's fast, accurate, and silent motor. It's all you need on macro photography. smile.gif

If you want new, go for G1X. The sensor size is bigger than compact camera, and it's semi pro. I see no reason to choose the others. smile.gif

Hi guys, looking to get a point and shoot compact camera. Have absolutely no idea which brand and model is good so any advise is much appreciated.

Semi pro would be above 1k, which might be up to 2k. If you have budget, go for G1X. Else you can consider Ixus 300 HS.

Just depend on what features u want... gps or no gps... or cheaper. They're essentially the same.

This is 1 tough question.

Everybody has their own preference of color, Dynamic Range etc. etc.
So i dare not say that Nikon is better den canon or vice versa.
But most ppl mentioned that

For image quality i.e Photo quality --> Nikon (based on my preference)
For video Quality --> Canon (Wins Hands Down, No doubt)

Some ppl would fire me... with all sort... But like i said... the above is my own point of view... i prefer nikons color compared to canon...

So i have answered ur question... and here is 1 good comparisn 60D vs D7000

the Website is just for reference, doesnt necessary is true... (most of the time)
