QUOTE(Jinster @ Mar 12 2012, 06:02 PM) wah..normal car front windscreen highest also around RM3800... I was advised by my SA to insured 5k for the whole car windows all around. The most expensive is the hatch back rear screen.by the way, never before did i hear insurance company cover "tinted"..i only know tinted shop cover their own tinted... edit: read a few things about the windscreen...seems like it is normally around RM4500...insure higher is better is true but i'm quite baffled by the cost |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Mar 14 2012, 10:05 AM) no 12v battery come with 2 years... that is the standard lifespan of the 12v battery... it has been practice by honda since stone age... the weird thing is. i dunno why honda 12v battery life spend is only 2 years. my city 12v battery have to change every 1.5 or 2 years (could it be the alternator problem?)....where by my other car kelisa battery lasted me 3 years before changing....does insight comes with alternator? cant remember whether i saw it or not.... QUOTE(iTrump @ Mar 20 2012, 11:58 AM) Regretted to change to tire size 205/45/16. It required much more effort to keep up with my previous fc of > 19km/L. Especially on short distance, the fuel dropped so obvious compare to the stock tire. I think 205 is too wide. My opinion. 195/50r16 would be a better choice if wanna go wider. But IHonda insight come with small tire to maximize the FC with lower resistance. I think for those travel in city most of the time, stick to the stock tire size for better FC, and those travel lots on highway, try wider tire for better stability. So hard to get best of both world. haha. Prefer to Stick back with the factory size. Just get the better tire brand like mcheline xm2. Compare to the noise hard surface dunlop tire that came with it. There is a reason why they have a specific tire size for specific car. The had tuned the car for the right size of tires. |

QUOTE(Nievk8701 @ Mar 22 2012, 09:22 AM) im jz curious as someone mention can change to 195 from 185 without changing the rim, all this while i tot evry size mus match v exact rim, nvr knw 195 n 185 can fit into the same rim. ic....if realy can then i'll definitely go for 195/55/16 aftr my current tyre worn out... for better traction hehehe yes it can change to 195 is all depending on the rim width. If i'm not mistaken insight rim 16" is 6.5J (meaning 6 1/2" wide). can get 195/50 R16 and not 195/55R16.....u cant simply change the tire size....it will make the speed meter inaccurate and more fuel consumption.. from 185/55r16 to 195/55r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 71.26 from 185/55r16 to 195/50r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at 69.03 from 185/55r16 to 205/50r16 So when your speedo reads 70mph, you're actually travelling at70.18 u can either use 195 or 205, but my advice is use 195, because insight rim is 6.5J or 6J wide like i mentioned above. If use 205 the wheel will look fat and too wide for the rim and consume more fuel. For 205 the ideal rim size 16" width is 7j and above. learn more about tire and rims here http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html This post has been edited by alxdc: Mar 22 2012, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(Antzfield @ Mar 28 2012, 06:02 PM) Thanks to all the Bro in advising to "step harder" CRZ does come with auto CVT. It will be available in next month or month of may onwards.I tried couple of times but it is just not working to my expectation, since it was stated specifically there are this function in the brochure. My own Accord holds better although there is no such function in this car. Anyway, will try again this weekend. Overall, I am quite happy with Insight with only dislike of the aircond thing when stopping the car. It is a good buy indeed. I have yet to test drive the Prius C, but the interior design and quality really put me off, similarly the seating also very small, where Insight is slightly bigger. How I wish CRZ has auto instead of manual, this car surely "excites" me Actually is June onwards according the CRZ thread This post has been edited by alxdc: Mar 28 2012, 06:25 PM |

QUOTE(Happyman @ Apr 12 2012, 05:27 PM) My insight's idling problem is getting worse. Honda now want me to send my car in then they will video record the idling problem then send to HQ or Japan or wherever they want. They admit there is a problem but dont know what cause the problem and dont know how to fix. could u describe how is ur idling problem like?Added on April 12, 2012, 9:52 pmguys, does your car have this Shudder On Accelerate? When you accelerate from a stop, it shudders a bit at low speeds, kind of like a car with a manual transmission will. It seems this only happen when Econ Off. It is very obvious, but when during Econ On, the shudder feel is mild. You can see a little bouncing on the tachometer while it does this. Another one is, when you are slowing down and you lift off the gas paddle, some times the car shudder and sometime it jerk and when you step on the gas paddle back, then is ok.. ( feeling like when u are driving a manual gear box when the car is slowing down and you didnt step on the clutch and the car shuddering..) any ideas? Thanks.... QUOTE(gadgets2us @ Apr 3 2012, 06:20 PM) Experiencing very frequent (every 5-10 minutes of normal drive), almost total drainage of battery (1-2 bar left), to charging up the battery (full bars), within 2-3 minutes of normal drive (not downhill). The battery bars are very unstable, can be full bars, then within 10 seconds drop to 2 bar, also from 2 bars, can be charged straight to full within a few minutes, it wouldn't gradually increase/decrease bar after bar, like it used to be. any improvement after the software update? is it the 2012 insight software? When battery is below half, the car totally lack of power. Sluggish drive. Sent it to SC to check it out, they "formatted" and "reinstalled" new/updated OS in it. Seems to be ok after that. Don't know bout later.. will update |

QUOTE(watonk @ Apr 13 2012, 03:54 PM) That mild forward-slow-forward-slow motion when accelerate is it? Its more obvious when the engine is cold & econ off. Felt the same motion last time but now ok after i used fully synth 5w engine oil (the red cap bottle). Hm....I think the problem that I'm facing is related to cvt or ima calibration. I don't think using higher grade engine oil will solved the problem as I don't this is related. |

QUOTE(gadgets2us @ Apr 13 2012, 10:03 PM) After updating, no problems on IMA battery charging/discharging. All back to normal like first got the car. Weird. I went to Sumber auto P.J. They do not do software update for my 2011Insight unless there is a instruction from Honda Malaysia to perform the update. They say cannot simply update afraid it may cost problem. So they tested my car and say is ok and certain things like jerkiness or shudder during acceleration is normal for insight. Sigh....so I told them that there are ppl updating their software in other branches. But they still do not want to update as lOng no instruction from Hq they cannot do it. Acceleration back to normal, and all seems well now, except for a few "sounds" around the driver vanity mirror/toll card holder thing. Prolly will get that replaced. No idea what version number is it, as I didn't have a chance to sit beside the technician while he was on his laptop inside my car doing the reformatting. But apparently its a "new" version as claimed. Jerkiness/shudder I encountered, only on low gear/speeds ard 20-35.. doesn't seem smooth, but after 40-50.. all ok. Unless there's a valid explanation for that and have the solution, I guess I could live with tht. So fOr those who's updated. Just to double check. Did Your dealer update the software or they only did the CVT CAlibration? Coz calibration and software update is 2 different things |
