You hit this all the times? Just curious what is the minimum you get so far, below 500km? mind to share where you travel from and to? highway name/road name? NKVE/Jalan Tun Razak

Just try to figure out why there is inconsistency and the reading is so much different from one to another.

hi, i just get my insight... but why i can hear some noise in the dashboard (i don't know how to explain the noise) when i drive above 100kmh++...?

is it problem or not?

Added on May 19, 2012, 7:56 pm

ya same sound as mine...  icon_question.gif

Guys, sorry quite busy these few days.

First of all, may i know if u've tried to release the bonnet while the whistling occur? Does the whistling noise disappear?
If the whistling still there, u might face a different problem. My insight definitely cured and i've always turn off the radio and check for the noise once in a while. From 70km/h, 80, 100 all the way to top no whistle.

QUOTE(urgo88 @ May 21 2012, 01:28 PM)
Got my white Insight over the weekend. Chalking up ~20km/l and loving it! The dashboard is way cool. No problems with aircon while auto-stop.. still cool as fan still blowing but at lower fan speed. If hot weather, noticed that engine will alive after ~10s. No problem on slopes and very quick on acceleration biggrin.gif

The suspension is a bit stiff ... can feel the less-than-ideal road quality. And the driver seat not too comfy. Speedometer somewhat obscured by steering wheel so had to adjust seat higher. Head-rest on front passenger seat is a bit high... can obscure view if you want to see if got traffic on the left.

All-in-all, awesome car! biggrin.gif
*
I also face some 'getting used to' insight stiffer suspension when first own the car. However after more than 30K km, either the suspension is getting softer & more comfortable, or me getting adapted to its ride comfort.

QUOTE(tkingt @ May 21 2012, 10:27 PM)
do u drive everyday or only weekends? do u park under the sun everyday?
Weekday: Seldom drive or very short distant for ta bao only.
Weekend: Friday, Sat, Sunday drive up to almost 100KM

do u park under the sun everyday?
No park under the sun. park under cover car park.

when drive do u stop at many places and off engine and on many times?
Nope, seldom on off when driving at weekend. around 3 or 4 times(Maximum) stop when went out for whole day.

QUOTE(vaio_me @ May 22 2012, 11:41 AM)
My fuel mileage is about the same as yours. Most of the time is below 500km for full tank. I'm able to hit above 500 if only I drive very slow and always keep the odometer green. To hit 600km, I am not sure how other member can achieve that, unless they always keep the odometer green.

To drive to hit above 500km will allow many cars to cut my queue and some car will honk at you or stare at you when they overtake you ... haha.
*
U need to maximize the regenerative braking. Avoid abrupt stop. On familiar road going to traffic light, i've always let go the throttle early an give a mild step to the brake pedal, the chrg needle went down further and the car almost stop naturally came to que.
I always get more than 500 and somewhere around 600km while maintaining my cruising speed @ 100km/h.

Nov 2011, 17k km already and use daily to go work. No major complaints so far other than the whistling sound. Tired of looking around and accepting that the car is a happy car and likes to whistle. What to do. Saves me about 150 a month on fc so okloh rclxms.gif

Driving style normal, not slowest and not fastest. Kajang, Balakong, Besraya, smart tunnel, raja chulan and back 37km each way. To office 23km/l ++. Back home, 17-19km/l To office, 20% jam, to home 30++% jam. Average per fill up 32l, 550-570 with 50km left. So 600km plus or take. Got passed 600 a few times with 40 to 50 km to go but wife complains drive like turtlelah, plus very sleepy for such a quiet and sporty car

A few weeks ago, drive like mad also can get 490 with 30 left at 16km/l

I learn to let go of fuel pedal since driving with this car, letting it cruise as much as possible especially downhill. tekan gently gently to maintain at 50km/l. Now habit already

Not the faster nor the slowest but definitely one of the wisest.

One bro here drives to Cyberjaya gets really high km/l. He posted last time. If the road is smooth, Prius and Insight no different. Jam, then different

That whistle, have u tried to release the bonnet while its happen? Yes i know its a bit dangerous especially at higher speed >100km/h, but should be ok since there's another latch and the bonnet still angled downward. If the whistle gone, should be the same case and my suggestion might solve your problem. And/or u should log a complaint to Honda if the my suggestion didnt address the issue since its still under warranty.
I was this ' ' close to make noise to my dealer before i confirm solved it myself. Just cant live with any single weird sound on any of my car, unless its that natural wind/tyre/engine sound (at acceptable level).

I ever recorded 34km/l on a single, ideal journey. We need to understand the concept. The energy which enable longer distance was the energy recovered during braking. That same energy will be reused to assists internal combustion engine to propel the car later. U can accelerate slowly and maintain slow phase but if u practice abrupt braking/ braking with blue meter, u can't get outstanding mileage. Always maintain green on the display while braking. U will find yourself clocking better mileage.

Prius or Prius C useful in traffic jam (using 100% electric) for few hundred meters to low 1-2 km only (depend on charge level). As the battery level dropped, the engine will start to charge the battery. For normal traffic light queue they were excellent and really saves fuel. But for continuous traffic congestion (i.e Federal highway; KL all the way to Shah Alam) mileage also dropped to 16-18km/l.

Wow..salute bro. notworthy.gif The route you take is all jam area still manage to get good mileage.

Today morning just pump petrol, hit only 480km for full tanks. If i have got the skills and mileage u have, i would have another 70 - 80km to go.
I'll have to learn to let it cruise more often than stepping the pedal.

Yeah, abrupt braking/ braking with blue meter and I get most at the bump near my house and the dark blue meter appear more quicker on eco score stage 3, I've stuck there for very long time. I've give up the score....
