Hi.
to all insight onwer. 2011 and 2012.  Just want to find out. Does your car ima battery bar drop to 2 or 1 bar and it start charging with no assist when ever you drive up to a slope or a hill?
*
Yes AFAIK that's normal for charge to drop if IMA assist in uphill drive. If the charge is low enough, the battery will be in forced charge mode where it will use engine to charge IMA so you feel drop in power when going prolonged uphill.

My insight also got the problem of having sound when above 110. But this problem seems to be on and off. Went to told SC when I was having my 1000km service. But there is no sound when drive above 110. So it's kinda hard to rectify the problem.
*
You are not alone, mine also have problem(insight FL 2012) having sound after reaching 125km/h and above. Sound getting worst when drive more than 130km/h.

Meet 2 service center to report and rectify the problem. From their diagnose, this is because of front windscreen rubber not tight and wind goes in when reaching certain speed.

SC told there no replacement if my windscreen broken during repair.. so need to wait until they have stock??..!!! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Ya loh. Heaven!

Sometime even forget when last visit gas station. One time drove almost 2 weeks without refueling. Drive to work everyday fuel cost like taking lrt only. Amazing!

BTW changed back to semi synthetic at 15k service, pedal seems heavier and engine not so responsive. FC dropped a bit from 600++ km per tank to 550++km per tank

Might change back to full synthetic and feel the fun back. Fun and fuel saving at the same time? Amazing.

Took a test drive of the Honda Insight today. The car drives well and looks good. Wanted to ask though... from the forum, looks like this car does have some quality issues? Leaking etc? Anyone can comment? Deciding on this vs Prius C... Thanks in advance!

Normal. If you need more power, u have to floor the accelerator & the force charging will stop.

Is this the same issue with bonnet whistle?

I think that figure consider normal unless u frequently stuck in traffic jams and lots of short trip.
I easily hit 595km per tank. This is last week.

The 2 issues is whistling noise, and some water leak at the passenger side. I didnt face that leak, but that whistling sound has been addressed. So far very satisfied, especially on the fc and comfort/handling balance of the car. It slightly rigid if u used to a toyota, but very less roll & floating, confident handling.
U should go for prius C if u particular on comfort ride and dont mind the lack of boot space. Fc should be slightly better too. On the other hands, i found prius C body roll still like typical toyota, interior fail, and still quite a bit noisy due to lack of insulation. The regenerative braking is a bit noisy (whining). Overall, its still a smaller car but should be ok if u didnt require so much space.

How do you guys managed to achieved 600km per tank ???
Throughout the year I had only managed to hit 550km 1 time. Most of the time only hit 480km-500km only.

Is that something wrong with my car? or my driving style?

Eco mode all the time and normal traffic.

I did test drive Prius C.. is ok but still felt Insight had better handling and 'power'. The Prius C interior is a major disappointment. Leaning towards Insight but just a bit concerned about the 'quality' issues mentioned in the forum.

Quality issue not that bad laaa Battery is 5 years warranty... so far have not have a major issue... the quality is way batter than local assembled Honda...

worst if after 5 years and battery (Hybrid battery) die... just order from ebay for cheap replacement... cause insight use D cell NIMH to power the car... not hard to replace...

Your driving style... haha

I have try it my self...

I pump full tank and I drive eco way (Green ambient meter) gentle acceleration gentle braking... I get 750km

Then I pump full tank and drive like I usually drive (Ignore the meter colour) and I get 550-650km

compare to city IDSI I usually get 350-400km
