Maybe you will love the 4:5 mode when shooting portrait ?
plus your current geat setup will definitely make good use of the optics resolution
*
I don't get the 4:5 mode, what is this? o_O

more like 4x5 or 5x4 ratio "crop mode"
the bigger box is the conventional ratio of 3:2
while the red box is the 5:4 i mentioned

*
Nah, I think 3:2 is alright... not much of an issue la. Standard setting biggrin.gif

That should be the right estimation for RRP. Since seather mentioned his regular shop putting approx RM7.5K++. Should the street price approximately RM8.5K ~ RM9K upon launching? Damn... far from my reach laugh.gif
*
I'm thinking of a D700 + D800E combination... ahh, time to feed my piggy bank further so its fat enough for one D800E xD.

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Feb 9 2012, 02:43 PM)
In case it was not mentioned here, the latest version 2.3.0 update is 64 bit. No more running 32bit in 64bit OS. Finally ! Much faster and smoother.
Not too bad what... You're expecting D3s territory?
If that is the same guy, I would suspect so...

Anyway, any idea where the D800 is made? Japan, Thailand, Malaysia?
*
36MP with D3s noise control? That will be even ahead of the medium format IMO.

QUOTE(ifer @ Feb 9 2012, 03:54 PM)
Prolly because Nikon gave him a good deal. I am thinking of switching to Canon because they give me an offer I cant refuse.
*
Time to jump ship then! Maybe Nikon would counter offer you something you can't refuse perhaps tongue.gif

Wan to ask sifu sifu.....I plan to buy a 1.8f lens in may..which 1 i should choose??? 50mm f1.8 G or 35mm f1.8G????
*
What is your purpose? I would prefer 50mm f/1.8G cause its a FX lens, but 35mm suits better for crop sensor.

I often read this that Louis Pang mentioned he bought every single Nikon's products with his own wallet and not being sponsored. And that usually come when there's debate happening between Canon vs Nikon thingy. Probably one of their procedure that we may not know, but I hardly see Louis promoting Nikon or showing off himself with Nikon. Unlike so photographer at his level, one of their introduction is their camera history which bear the big logo of Canon sweat.gif
*
Well if that's the case then I guess he likes Nikon a lot... or Canon doesn't offer him? (unlikely???)

QUOTE(goldfries @ Feb 10 2012, 05:34 PM)
ehh, Louis is NPS member #1.

Even that, you think Nikon give him the Nikon gears ah? Nope, he doesn't get them.

Added on February 10, 2012, 5:36 pm

how is that possible?

if you prefer 35 on DX, that means you like that range, that means around 50 on FX. smile.gif
*
Louis Pang is NPS #1? o_O worldwide?

You scared me, I was wondering how come he's the #1 worldwide... in Msia probably yes. But worldwide kinda interesting... cause many of the pros around gets to play with the prototypes... I wonder if Louis gets his hands on one of them as well...

BTW, I have known some of the pro photogs prefer Nikon over Canon. Not to mention some Canon pro photogs do mention they love Nikon's system more. But why they didn't migrate, didn't shared laugh.gif
*
Because they have contract with Canon perhaps? Canon probably tie them down for a certain period then sponsoring some of their gears perhaps.

hey guys, i have got a question. bought the MB-D10 and a pair on nikon batteries today, n i still hav a prob. i charge the batteries until its full already, and slot it in the BG, (1 battery only), and my camera shows that the battery is empty (although its really fully charged)

when im using 2 batteries in em, both BG n body, the buttons on the BG doesnt wanna work, wheel dials, shutter button..hmm

is there something wrong with my camera? should i sent it for repairs/warranty? hmmmm

any of u guys have encountered this b4?

thanks in advance guys notworthy.gif

Check the contact, and make sure you screw it firmly... careful not to over tighten and damaging the screw thread.

So your MB-D10 works on your friend's D700. Did you try another MB-D10 which is working on your D700 perhaps?

Anyway, generally for photographer and people that plan to start join the event, which camera would be better?
I like D5100. The only think that hold me is no built focus motor. Which is why i strongly consider to buy my friend D90.
*
Which lens do you plan on buying that requires a D90 to AF?

I think i'm gonna stick with original  lens for a while which is 18-105mm kit lens.
I'm planning to use this camera for long time anyway. If i ever plan to upgrade anything, i just hope i can just upgrade the lens only.
*
Yes you can. All new lens have AF-S (SWM) in them, no worries of not being able to autofocus. Only issue is when you use older lens then yes that will be troublesome.
