It's a new build for the 4s but still runs on iOS 5.0.1 firmware version. Supposedly it solves the No Sim error issues that some people were encountering on their 4s. If your is a factory unlocked set, go ahead and download the 9A406 build which can be found below

You're doing the right thing. I think sn0wbreeze is better at creating custom firmware. I'm a Mac person so I usually use Pwnagetool with my 3Gs before. Sn0wbreeze is basically a Windows port of Pwnagetool.

I'm not sure if backgrounder is compatible or not with iOS 5.0.1 but that's the tweak that allows you to choose which apps you want to stay open in the background.

I don't get you, you can jailbreak or you cannot jailbreak?

Your friend's windows 7 must have iTunes. The Absinthe jailbreak uses the backup/restore exploit. How do you backup and restore an iPhone? You do it with iTunes. If you don't have iTunes, Absinthe will not work.

Your friend is correct. Check the modem firmware version you have. What is the version?

If you need to upgrade the firmware, to be able to use with Gevey at the very least, you must preserve the 4.10.x baseband.

Laaa apasal tak cakap 3Gs, tadi cakap 3G (lain versi you know).

3Gs dengan iPhone 4 cara jailbreak dia sama sahaja. Baca post #1, semua link dengan cara cara ada kat link #1

Remove Winterboard/Dreamboard etc etc ... iOS5.0.1 and all these theming tweaks do not like each other.

Barrels is a paid tweak and some people have mentioned that on iOS 5, there is still a noticeable lag even when they used Barrels.

You have a baseband that supposedly can be unlock with Gevey Sim Ultra if you preserve the baseband during the upgrade to 5.0.1

The steps to do it is complicated but you can do it via sn0wbreeze 2.9.1 via Expert Mode.

Don't take out the simcard. That is not necessary. The jailbreak process is quite fast within 3-5 minutes especially if you backup and restore your iPhone before applying the jailbreak.

You can always tell iTunes not to auto sync/backup. Just go to iTunes preferences and under the Devices Tab, untick the box that says "automatically sync iPhone iPad iPod" etc.

By the way, if you backup and then restore your iPhone, a copy of the backup prior to the restore will be saved in the computer and will not be overwritten. iTunes will create another backup file post restore.

Nonsense. Just make sure you download tweaks from trusted repo. If you download all those pirated tweaks, then I don't know. So don't download those tweaks.

Make sure you download the latest iPhone 4 firmware, not the iPhone 4s.

Make sure also you download the latest redsn0w.
