So just like my title, can rope skipping actually helps in burning whole body fat. As in lower down the percentage of body fat. I know that in order to burn fat, one have to do cardio exercise right?? So is rope skipping consider as cardio exercise? I know jogging is effective but I heard that jogging is not good for the knees. Are there any side effects for rope skipping? Because we have jump up everytime the rope comes.
So people, please enlighten me with your knowledge. Thanks in advance. |

Thus for most people it is better off start jogging than to spend time and effort in training rope skipping. So people, please enlighten me with your knowledge. Thanks in advance. |

rope skipping sounds easy, but its harder to do it for a long period, and the definition of long period rope skipping for starters is around 3-4 mins.
all it takes 1 minute of pure jumping, and its likely youd be out of breath. but yes, if you can do it for 15 minutes, it would burn more calories than jogging for 30 minutes. jogging hurts ur knees if u dont land ur foot down properly. plus the correct type of shoes massively decreases the chances of you hurting ur knees in the long run, so is the type of surface you decide to run on. skipping is essentially the same thing for newbies, since you cant control ur jumping height correctly, you will tend to jump higher sometimes and lower sometimes, and you'd be too busy to try and land down properly. In the end, skipping also can hurt ur knee joints. |

It is good as it involves consistency. But also need to do it properly to reduce the impact that can damage your knees also.

rope skipping require lots of patient and perseverance..i use to skip alot..starting from 100 a day, increase to 200, 500, 1000, 4000, 5000..
Rope skipping train ur entire body if u do it correctly..do not ever lock ur knees to prevent injuries to ur knee cap..entire arms, core muscles, glutes down to ur calf.. One tips for u, do not hunch not matter how tired ure to prevent miscompression downwards ur spine that will affect ur backbone alignment..and do actived ur core muscle during the entire exercise to protect ur lowerback..this is essential.. Oh yea, of cuz it is another cardio exercise, but a much advance cardio exercise..if u do it correctly, rope skipping shuld burn more calories compare to jogging..due to more muscle movement in the sametime and more intensity compare to jogging..more heart rate, more breathing.. Best of luck bro..preservence! |
