to play safe, using a 3G router is the best choice from all the trouble getting with direct plug hehe

Can, make sure to buy TP Link MR3420, else be prepared for sleepless nights. I had once in last year's November. Takut already.

yea speak from those scary experiences, plus the 3G router have to be very flexible, otherwise between NDIS and RAS will also mess up,..

Nope I was using the latest version until Chuah posted this. Managed to find out the culprit that caused the incompatibility.

Yes, sounds simple but took me one sleepless night to get it fixed.

so (the default) NDIS, the our Acteach router detect NDIS or RAS?
any improvement using the latest firmware? Can make voice call and USSD?

If you have updated to the firmware which I have updated in Maxis thread, you have to change your modem settings to RAS else it can't be connected using NDIS.
The blue LED will keep blinking.

Something that is negligible but somehow makes a big difference to the fussy router - Aztech HW550-3G.

lol thanks but after i install the dashboard in window without flashing my modem, i am unable to use mdma anymore. So now have to use mobile partner

can use MDMA< just make sure u close this new dashboard before u open MDMA,. still works, i tested,..

Forget NDIS or RAS already the dashboard software will create a dailup connection, sometime I just connect using the dailup connection.

some modem u can select in dashboard under setting/option whether to use RAS or NDIS while some modem just purely using RAS connection only,..

seems like NDIS connection would be better and faster / stable,..

It works the same for me, irregardless NDIS or RAS. Both capture high speed when the network is not down.

I must pair my modem with router because:
1) It auto connects when it disconnects
2) It gives more stable connection when I'm using LAN cable (Cat 6)
3) It transmits WiFi signal which is useful for my iPad
4) My modem is not working well when it is directly plugged to my laptop
