Hi all,

Just a note for those having frequent disconnection issues. I had a similar problem before this. Though I am using TL-WR841N w/ stock firmware with my BIZ5. The problem I had, which according to TM technician, is Fiberhome modem's firmware was outdated and that TM's side has upgraded theirs. The effect of this cause frequent disconnections for me.

Called them, they came to replace my Fiberhome modem(1 to 1 replacement), re-configured the settings for it and haven't had disconnection issues ever since.

I suggest giving TM a call and ask them to replace your Fiber modem and see if it fixes the problem for you.

Cheers.

Is TP Link 1043ND with DD-WRT firmware able to work as a repeater(Non-WDS)? I searched through online and I got different answers...
I know Gargoyle firmware works... but I prefer to use DD-WRT...

Last time after a lot of trial and error I managed to get it to work as a repeater (non WDS). It was bloody unstable, so I ditched it. Can't remember the DDWRT version though.

Repeater never works well in mine too since it was Atheros based
Anyway, now I used powerline and works like a charm

Client Mode works!
I'm successfully running in Client Mode on the 1043 on DD-WRT connected to a non DD-WRT AP
It's stable and sustaining a full 1mbps download.

Just keep in mind client mode does not extend , it just simply allows you to "link" two routers wirelessly , thats about it. It does not boost the signal. WDS boosts the signal and allows roaming (if the client supports it , so it can hop from one AP to another AP)

More than just linking two routers Client Modes creates a separate subnet different from the one created by the primary router/AP
