QUOTE(kaisam @ Jul 17 2012, 12:38 PM) TP Link 1043ND with DD-WRT is WDS not repeater. Only Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT got repeater. Thank you. Can it work in Client Mode? This post has been edited by totally_skint: Aug 16 2012, 10:03 AM

QUOTE(kaisam @ Aug 16 2012, 01:03 PM) If same brand then can be client mode. Thank you. Do you mean to another TP-Link running DD-WRT/Openwrt?

Client Mode works! I'm successfully running in Client Mode on the 1043 on DD-WRT connected to a non DD-WRT AP It's stable and sustaining a full 1mbps download.

QUOTE(prasys @ Aug 20 2012, 05:57 PM) Just keep in mind client mode does not extend , it just simply allows you to "link" two routers wirelessly , thats about it. It does not boost the signal. WDS boosts the signal and allows roaming (if the client supports it , so it can hop from one AP to another AP) More than just linking two routers Client Modes creates a separate subnet different from the one created by the primary router/AP

I just bought a 1043 with DD-WRT pre-installed. If I want to install Openwrt I have to flash to stock firmware first then Openwrt. Is that correct?
