screen u mean the bravia screen ??

anyway just want to tell about display on arc s is not that good imo .
its just normal. the bravia thingy is when u watch pics n video. other than that is normal . or maybe bcause i got 2 screen protector fr my arc s

maybe samsung note/s2 amoled screen are better. but i like iphone retina btween those 3.

arc S' screen is way way way better than Galaxy W.

Of course, it's not as brilliant as S-AMOLED+ but it's really good compared to most phones out there.

same question here~ how much arc s cost now? worth buying? any other phone which same price range now?

RM1260 ori set.really worth though.Big enuf screen.fast enuf speed.very thin design really nice and screen is pretty good as well.

Will the arc s get the ics update? When?

cant agree with this , i compared sg2 and arc s screen side to side .

The gs2 screen is like ....... too colourful ?

The arc s screen is more nature and gentle to my eye .

the rovio icon should be red but on sg2 it shows like marron

maybe its contrast is better but the white shows blue .

You might found that the photo you view on the screen is more colourful than the real world you seeing .

ok u are right bout the screen about samsung amoled,i dunno why i feel different,maybe bcause sgs2 is using clear sp and my arc s is matte sp. try iphone retina,u be amaze.
the bravia screen is only superb when viewing pics and videos iinm.
i have tried fb apps on my arc s n iphone 4, iphone 4 blue colors(fren request,msj,notification) is nicer than blue colour on arc s android.and also viewing pics is much better on iphone,it feel like it makes the images sharper while arc s ,bit blur..maybe bcause big screen..

about photo , nahh it looks nice but when zooming abit,there pixel where samsung n iphone will also have pixel but its hardly seen,not hardly,.hurm i dunno how to describe,just test both.
but i compare camera side by side ,iphone is much better,the colour is nice, and the touch to focus is so good compare to arc s touch focus,which seems like its not focusing,i hve to set to multi focus.
but the results in pc showing arc s camera is better.

the brightness on retina is amazing too,i often set the brightness to lowest which is still can be seen indoors,outdoors below sun cnnt see at all,must set to medium or max only n can be see,but i rarely use even half of the brghtness except outdoors ,the brightness is not like ipad or my old android phone which only improve a little from medium to high,you can see the brightness difference even scroll a bit.

another superb quality screen is android asus transformer tablet. that is just as amazing as retina.but fr android phones,..i hvent seen any good beside this two... and i notice iphone and asus is using glass i guess fr their screen?

For photo , android 2.3 gallery is downsize image so zooming might not nice . You can view it fullsize on pc tho .
About the focus there are discusion earlier in this tread already so i will skip it .

For quality of screen , arc and iphone both using high end tft lcd screen tho . The quality is almost the same , perhaps iphone screen is sharper due to its size . Other than that there arent big difference there . For brightness arc S have brightness improvement over arc and i have no problem reading my screen in sun light using 40%- brightness .

Glass doesnt give significant effect to the screen colour no matter gorilla or not on those device , they are clear enough .

sg2 amoled looks greenish..that samsung tech.
bravia is for better pics but consume battery.
arc s shud b cheaper than many phone..pls remember arc s is a single core phone..dun go compare to sg2.

it was so cool wit ics.

the thing i think will be funny is that when the update is release, i think my phone hav more crack already hehehe

k guys, im 'pening oredy' right now, bein through xda forum regardin this, bout still not sure,

my arc prompt a 4.0.2.A.0.62 update. can i update it OTA just like that? btw currently im on .42, wit unlocked bootloader and already rooted. so can i just update it to .62, also will my phone stil rooted?

update liao i think got problem with the root. Myself i cant root the phone using doomlord kernel. Anyway it still works like a charm without rooting.

Have you found anywhere which you can change the case? I think lowyat can change it leh. The kedai belakang. This phone is good to be honest. It;s just nice for my grip compared to SGS2 and Galaxy Note which i previously own. Initially thought buy use a week or 2 then sell play with Xperia S but after using a few days i think i might use it slightly longer. haha

i knew somone who has contact bout arc case/casing/housing.. try pm xtreme paranoid. btw if u change the case at lowyat,plez inform me the price aswell k.

actually i dun really wana update, but it is kinda annoying to c the update notification on the notification bar.. any idea how can i remove/hide the update from the notification bar?

Try clearing data for the Update Center application in the phone.

Menu> Settings> Applications > Manage applications > All > Update Center > Clear data.

go to settings > about phone > software update..it will show a new update is available..

press the menu key and disable automatic update

Tq, i manage to hide the update notification by clearing the data of update service. Then i freeze it via titanium

i just bought a 2ndhand xperia arc few days back
using the ics 4.0 launcher,cant wait for the official ics 4

btw,can u guys introduce me some root/mod to enhance the performance n smoothness of this device ?
