Just some other extra details about the subwoofer...
If you are searching for hard hitting bass that does smacking on your chest for every beat~
The S530D fails to do so as it is quite gentle and not very aggressive punching type...
yea, kinda like a rephrase on my sentence about this subwoofer being slow
Have been using the S530D as my living room speakers for a month now. As what power911 has mentioned, this set of speakers are pretty particular on the source and equipment that is paired to it.
Before moving it to the living room, it was connected to my workstation PC directly using an XFi Titanium PCIE sound card. It sounded quite harsh IMHO even after burning in for 6 months, and I could not tweak it to my liking no matter how even by using the software's bass boost, crystaliser or EQ (maybe I am very bad at making adjustments

)
Then I decided to try it out at the living room out of tantrum and frustration. To my surprise, it was pure ecstasy, night and day difference compared to Logitech's Z2300 that was hooked up to the same equipments. (Equipments: DVD Player, HTPC with SB Audigy -> Sony old school EQ -> Marantz amp's pre out). Music and movies sounded much clearer and natural by miles. Bass was pretty accurate, bouncy yet not boomy. Did a blind test with an audience that spends tens of thousands of ringgit on his audio equipments and he ended up extremely amazed on what this little 2.1 baby can do for it's size! The S530D's separation of tweeter and mid bass on the front speakers is clearly superior than any single full range 2" speakers that are equipped on most of the 2.1 speakers nowadays for example; Logitech's Z2300, Z623, Creative's T3, HK Soundstick III, etc.
To cut the long story short, the old Z2300 ended up as my workstation speakers and my living room is literally 'upgraded' to a higher, better, superb quality of the S530D. Thumbs up and kudos to S530D, you deserve the praise!
