haha big deal, aesthetics are subjective... i wont quarrel on that aspect... me, im an architect, i might go for the functionality side... u i dunno, may go for the aesthetics...  hahaa... but i still think this baby rawks... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

i thought architects were the ones who cared most about aesthetics with engineers caring more about functionality and practicality? form over function is what architect and designers care more.

dude it's already showing signs of fatigue being subjected to the little b1tch's weight T_T heartbroken looking at it  cry.gif
cos the nv5 is a heavy little b1tch  laugh.gif  looks awesome though, now if only the creators could design a little stand/column to extend down to the base of the casing to support its weight  biggrin.gif

my 6800GT has been scared by a .5mm bend, gravity is a destructive force, dont you think? laugh.gif

yea, ASUS' latest 7800GTX cards who ship with the silencer have a metal frame at the sides of the card. i was kinda thinking using thick acrylic to run along the sides of the card instead of metal. since i dont have the tools or the resources need to do such a thing, ive pumped it full of helium and let it float to infinity... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Cutting a straight line on a solid piece of acrylic's gonna be pretty difficult. But how about using 3 piece of acrylic with the middle piece being a thin strip?

Thought about this before when I was toying with heavy sinks. Some acrylic shops over here does sell those strips but just never gotten off my lazy ass to do it only.

sniper, if you stick it this way, will it compromise intergrity? would the glue be strong enough to support the weight of the card? sweat.gif

i think if this can be done, someone like allngap can mass manufacture them. im sure many of us have long cards + silencers installed and would love to get these 'tongkats' to aid the card's failing backbone...

what im tryin to say is, dont go into matters of subjectivity, like saying this is ugly , and this is not, u might hurt people... even architects dont say that lah... can u define what is beautiful?? define what is ugly in the praetorian 732 for me then, and im sure not everybody will agree with u... whahahahaha...

just give ur comments on the practicality side la... like 732 got better fans,.. better ventilation or wat nots...

form follow function??? aik?? u are like dissolving ur own points... of course la form follow function, thats why we keep askin u to comment on the practicality side, form aint the aesthetics side dude... form is more on how we articulate the shape to make it work a.k.a the practicality (repeated)

Wah your casing super bright lah;
Did you all mod the side window yourself or bought the side window. I am planning to get one of this also.

Anyway regarding the stealth cd-rom tray, there were some people asking if they could change the spring so that it offers less resistance against weak CD-ROMs; I will get one and if i encounter the problem and i manage to solve it i will post it here;

but art is a very subjective matter. if you dont look at it subjectively, then how would we 'decide' what is nice and what is not?

did it hurt you to find that >75% of us in this subforum think the 723 is an ugly casing? the truth might be hurtful, im sure we all know that. many times, the entire brand of casings are being lambasted by lianli users [dont get me started on how fugging boring those casings look] but do you see me getting hurt by their opinions? we all have different opinions and that is what makes us different to begin with.

I could probably look up the definition of 'beautiful' and it would probably have words like 'liked by many' or 'good to look at' and so on. you are right, people might not agree with me on what makes the 723 an ugly casing, but im sure most of them would agree with me that it is an ugly casing.

so youre implying that when you buy a car, you look only at its practicality? sure, the ability to mount 3 fans is great, but i'd rather have a single [or double] 120mm fan doing the job instead of 3 noisy small ones. among the main reasons why i got the original praetorian was because of how it looks. i bought it over the p160 which featured large 120mm fans. many might not agree with me that the preatorian is a superb looking case, but heck, i dont care. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and i LOVE how it looks. with the new praetorian, i have no reason to think of CM casings anymore. if it was me, i would have bought a different casing to start with [casings that feature 120mm fans would probably have better cooling too].

actually, i did not 'dissolve' my own points, you just read them differently. form over function and form follow function are two totally different things. i did not say the latter, you did.

I just thought of a really easy way to do this with aluminum. Check out the Graphics card n CPU cooling thread. I'll post my pics n idea there. Here a bit OT lar seeing as it's a CM League.

whoopi i finally got my cm c5
thanks moderno biggrin.gif

one question, i swap the intake fan to a 0.38 A fan coz i scared the 0.06 A fan that came with the casing might be a little weak

now i get a slight whining sound that i think is coming fro the air resistance of the front ( power switch )

is there any way to lower that noise ?? i installed a fan speed controller and set the thing to minimum but it's still a little whiny and humming to
