Just like to share a little thing i did on my CM690 with a tight budget WC kit.

Initial plan is to fit a 120mmx2 rad on the top, unfortunately it is not possible along with the fans. So i thought of installing the fans outside of the case, a little modding is required, i currently dont have any proper tools so this is the temporary result.

Did some rewiring while im at it.. and got myself a fan controller to minimise the noise =)

Whats new here is the whitewater CPU block, self modded nirox P3800 pump, gas tubes !!! (it was the cheapest solution sweat.gif and the only 1/2" tube that i manage to find around hardware shops...) then again, it looks pretty cool though laugh.gif the current rad was bought from BST dude for only RM60 drool.gif, it is a thermaltake dual120mm rad (using this while waiting for my cool-trek from moderno XD)

So.. basically this is what it looks like.

And the naked view (without side/front/top panels)

This would be the cacing escape hole laugh.gif

And this would be their home icon_rolleyes.gif
Most of the cables are wired through the holes at the 5.25" bays by removing the molex so that they cant be seen passing through the side.

now with covers on ( there are still work to do for the meshed grills, as said i dont have any tools for now so im using the anti-slip pads to cover the ugly part that was sawn off to give more space for the 2 fans to fit sweat.gif)

user posted image

I noticed the sidepanel fan is causing 2 of the tubes to kink pretty badly when sidepanel closed.

user posted image

so.. a simple solution laugh.gif install it outside !!! brows.gif

user posted image

and to minimize cacings.. this is what i did with the thermaltake fan and the fan controller brows.gif

user posted image

the reservoir is tied via zipties (was initially thinking to DIY a reservoir.. but was poisoned by moderno and his demo rig sweat.gif)

user posted image

This is where the pump power cord exits

user posted image

Well.. thats about all for now, will update once my new rad arrives.. and im thinking to change the tubes, it looks pretty awkward sweat.gif

Honestly, these tubes are quite soft and nice to bend, does not kink easily, worth every penny. Only cost me about RM2 per feet. But they aren't exactly the looker sweat.gif

its a 2nd hand whitewater block bought from a friendly forumer here, there are 2 outlet from the water block and 1 inlet. GPU block would be the next thing in my list after the rad brows.gif

As temps, not very good at the moment, i think most likely because of a lousy rad which is bottlenecking the water flow since it was originally a 3/8". Still a good buy though since its only RM60 laugh.gif, ill post up some temps on WC thread when my cooltrek DP 1202 arrives icon_rolleyes.gif

@ AoiNatsume - Wah I din know those gas tubes were UV reactive. Very nice UV look when they glow blue. That kink in the 2 into 1 joint hose, u can put a zip tie right at the middle point of the kink n it'll make ur hose nice n round again. Try that.

oh... thanks for the tips, will try it when i get home thumbup.gif

Yea, the tubes are slightly blue actually, initially, i pictured the green liquid and the white mesh inside the tubes to glow.. but it turns out doh.gif the light blue is glowing instead, though it actually look pretty good laugh.gif heck it cost me only about RM2 per feet icon_rolleyes.gif

lol lol ahaha, actually there was another tube i bought before this one im currently using. Im very sure it would look much nicer than this blue ones, problem is, that tube is too hard.... and might give lots of pressure to the component attached to it. Its clear acrylic and with white threadings. I might go search for more cheaper pipe solutions from other hardware shops, will share with u guys if i find any good ones thumbup.gif

no i cant, thats where the cutting comes in. First you have to cut off all the plastic grills inside, then cut off the mesh grills to bend it to shape and allow the fans to be placed. Its just nice, =)

@Ryo
If you'd look at my tubes properly, i think its not hard to figure out that tube is it laugh.gif

Indeed its the gas tubes, economical and it does the job =)

@bryanyeo
ahaha, the poison is too sweet to "not" swallow lolx
still waiting for the rest of my stuff.. damm, "fat mou" liao.

btw, i need to do some minor cutting oso la, i think the rad is gonna be placed on top, which means switched with the fans in my current setup, fan on top not very effective la sweat.gif, need to remove the grill as well... affecting the airflow quite badly. Ill need your help again bryan in some cutting tongue.gif
