too many model fits the bill laugh.gif some stand out model will be n45/55sf. alienware is kind of overkill with the usage. xps 14z should be good, but given the budget, xps15 will be the better option with fullhd+stronger gpu

1.) any
2.) budget around 3k
(as low as possible, but willing to spend more if it's really needed)

3.) usage : need it to run 3D...modeling, rendering on 3D-max...
4.)any...

*buy a 5k+ laptop direct will fit perfectly into my needs, just...
if there any recommendation where the price could be lower?

thanks

1. Preferred Brand: any reliable brand
2. Budget: 3k
3. Usage: online streaming, general web surfing, music, movies, some office work
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15"to 16'"

additionally
- would prefer to get it without OS - I plan on installing Linux

So far I have pre-selected 3 models.
1- Samsung Serie 7 Chronos 700Z5A but I don't know if it's coming to Msia :/
2- N55SF but I'm a bit lost with the recent upgrade and what not. Also, can it be found without Windows ?
3- dv6-6c19TX with an interesting RM3.1K offer on hp.com.my but it comes bundled with Windows and not too sure about HP brand.

Looking forward to reading feed-back / advices from the sifus browsing this board nod.gif

The Asus G53Sx (RM3999) comes with FullHD screen, the brochure is wrong laugh.gif
As for the Qosmio, the screen is HD only~

The Asus would be the better pick~
The only competitor is from Sager:
NP8130, i5-2430M + Nvidia GTX560M + (1600x900)@RM3654, FreeDOS [CPU Options: i5-2410M - i7-2860QM]

Well, you don't really need a very powerful laptop for your usage brows.gif
1. No idea when the Series 7 are coming as well sad.gif
2. Nope, FreeDOS version aren't available
3. The Dv6 would be a good choice, quite a good bargain~

Its not very surprising actually, especially for Samsung laptops with innovative features, just look at the previous 9 series sweat.gif sweat.gif
Samsung is a rising brand in terms of laptops, hopefully we'll be able to see cheaper laptops in the future, at least around Toshiba pricing levels thumbup.gif
