Hye guys. Very long time since my last post here. Wanna ask if any of you guys tried or use Yamaha Flying Dragon drum pedal? I have tried Elliminator, IC, Gibraltar Intruders and many more but never try Yamaha FD. I wonder how it feels compared to the other 2 I mentioned.

Thanks in advance!

Btw, how much is the retail price for Yamaha FD double pedal?
*
It depends on how you set it up, of course. I find FDs to be very smooth. Eliminators and ICs are chain drive pedals and this is a direct drive. Less power in the feel of the kick, but very smooth. Around 2k I think.

That's simply beautiful. Nothing beats natural finishes.

Including shipping/taxes/extras (no case yet), its setting me back upwards of RM1.5-RM1.6k.
will definitely do a demo when it gets here (end of the month, start of next month hopefully).

Does that include cymbals?

Also, i think a more important consideration is how serious you are in drumming. This is a loud and potentially expensive hobby. If you are serious about drumming you might want to think about upping your budget and getting an intermediate kit - something like the gretsch catalina maple, or the tama silverstar - both are very good kits and will last you a long time.

RM2000 could get you a basic kit, prob not enough for some decent cymbals though.
*
Indeed. Remember, that when you play with good gear, you'd tend to like it even more, and probably go further in what you want to do.

Anyway, I've got quite a few shows coming up over the next month or so, and you guys can find out more at my brand new Facebook page wink.gif

Couldn't get the heads that I wanted from Indonesia, so I'll be using the Evans Power Centre on my Kyre.

Thinking about getting a side snare soon.

PROBABLY from Eryk at Kyre Drums as well. Amazing prices.
Between 1-2k for custom drums with shipping to your doorstep. HAHA.

I'm contemplating getting a hybrid 10x5 acrylic/maple, or a 13 x 3 maple piccolo.

anyone sells or know any drum head sellers? went to JSmusic ask about Evans EQ3 20" they said no stock.
*
Well, JS is pretty much the best seller I can think of, with Aquarians and Evans heads. Bentleys has Remo heads I think. smile.gif
If they don't have it, its not here. smile.gif

QUOTE(mwkh_hope @ Jul 4 2013, 08:15 PM)
hi guys, my apology for inappropriate posting, but I'm looking for drumshield. Does anyone know where i can get it in Malaysia? or custom made?

I have quote for custom made(with 1" square stainless steel as structure together with 3mm 3M acrylic panel - 3 x 6), cost a bomb...

I needed it for church purposes.
Advice and guidance is much appreciated. Thanks
*
Hi there smile.gif My church got our drum shield from Singapore. Cost a ton as well. Good news is, if you take care of it, it'll last forever.
What's the main reason you need the shields though? There are many alternatives depending on what you need it for. smile.gif

Wow, this thread has really started to die, eh?

Where have all the drummers gone?!

Either ways, I'm planning to get myself a new small kit. Just a floor tom and a kick drum early next year. Anyone else getting new gear?

Now my left still stuck on hi hat most of the time.. trying to train it for left cymbal also to make it more natural.

HAHAH I agree. But for some of the more technical polyrhythms that I have to do I still play on my x-hat or crossed la. HAHAH

Hey to all drummers here,

I redeemed a set of Yamaha Portable Digital Drums DD-65 from CIMB using points. Was wondering do Yamaha music retailer accept trade in/buy this brand new kit or not. Because I'm not using it either. Anyone has experience of trade in new stuff to yamaha shop?

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3123384&hl=

Thanks
*
Hi there, I'd recommend you to try selling it at the forums here. Yamaha does not accept trade-ins, as far a I know.

guys... planning to buy a double pedal. Any recommendation? want to use with my roland kit at home. Should i just get a simple cheap Dixon pedal (cost ~RM550) or china licensed TAMA (~RM950) or just wait longer and save more to get Iron Cobra (~RM1500).

btw, got lot of complaints from my floor neighbour (staying in apartment) due to noisy vibration while playing, and managed to make a drum riser which solve my problems. Now i can play anytime even at midnight  rclxm9.gif

Some snapshots on the DIY Drum Riser (Cost ~rm250)
*
Do not buy the Dixons.

I recommend that you save up and buy the Speed Cobras/Iron Cobras. If you intend to continue drumming for a long time, saving up to buy quality gear will be worth it. You'll be playing with great equipment, which will make it more fun and enjoyable (and comfortable) for you.
