Just placed a order for Yamaha DTX562K. Now I'm researching to buy a decent drum amplifier for practice. Still not sure satellite monitor or a keyboard amp is better. Was eyeing for the Yamaha MS50DR about RM1800, I wonder if there is any better amp out there than this with this kind of budget?

hi I have a yamaha dtx532 its quite old. I want to get a bigger set. I was thinking either the roland td-30kv or the yamaha dtx 900/950. I would like to ask any drummers what they recommend. The music I like playing to is rock like metal rock. Can you guys give your opinion on the ones I should buy. Looking for a kit with great value for money. And I've been playing drums for quite sometime. Just wanted a bigger kit. Thanks yea biggrin.gif

I tried both.. and I would go for Roland, simply because the sound quality is better compared to Yamaha. Actually the touch/feel on the Yamaha is not bad and far better compared to the old DTX series. Go and try out both kit to find your own suiting. biggrin.gif

Anyone keen on trying out the Sabian Big & Ugly Series? One of my church mate is currently Yamaha Drums Product Manager, so he's asking me to just ask around.

My friend is looking for this series. Is Yamaha Malaysia bringing it in anytime soon?

Hey man! Timing still a bit wonky here and there - that's the main issue. At times it feels like you're following the song, instead of playing along with it. But you're getting better though! And I love the fact that you're still using those Fusion hats I sold you years ago! Sometimes I still regret letting them go. HAHA

I know the Product Manager as well - he brought in a few test pieces recently, and they all look beautiful. Not sure if they're stocking up big amounts though. Contact Yamaha and ask for Julian Loh.

Hi sifu all. I want ask always when I play other ppl kit many times their Tom is at one angle quite Horizontal that when I try play will hit the rim easily. I need angkaty elbow very high to avoid hit the rim. Usually I adjust more vertical to able hit the Tom easily.

I want ask is it my playing wrong or wat that I encounter many ppl put the Tom quite Horizontal? How they avoid hit the rim?

Hi! I don't think it's your playing that's wrong - sometimes you've just got to practice moving around the kit for awhile before it becomes second nature. Another thing, is that most of us who play with a near-90 degree set-up usually sit quite high as well - so the horizontal toms aren't at an awkward angle.

I see. Cos when I play other ppl kit like in studio or wat I usually need to adjust the Tom alot make me think something wrong with me. I very lazy adjust this and that and usually don't adjust much as long as i can hit them properly.
