i added a lone golden crs into my 1feet fan cooled tank, a week now, she still survive but don't think they will breed at temp 27-28c.

@Arrow bro, do you wash your shrimp's tank sponge frequently?And how u wash it?Another thing do you put any kind of fert for your moss?

yes i do wash them bcos they clogged with debris , i wash it inside a plastic bucket with tank water or De-chlorinated tap water or aged water.
just squeeze them in the bucket to let out all the debris , do it 2 to 3 time.

I use BW lush, Seachem Potassium & iron once in 2 week. Half dose.

Anyone can inform me if midvalley got fire red shrimp.. Last few weeks i went there there's only crs..

The respective fert you using izzit shrimp safe?i kinda noob on this. Because my current moss tank(without co2) dont use any fert and i also not sure whether should i or should not use any fert on it. Need more advise, as i prepare it to breed shrimp. This tank already 2month+

Confirm safe what I use, using those for > 6mths, just remember use half dose of what recommended on the bottle. fert other then the one I mention early you need to search if it shrimps safe in the internet.
Fyi borneowild growth is not shrimps safe but the manufacture reply me said it still can be use but half the amount.(of course I wont take the risk and exchange it to BW lush.)

Using ADA new Amazonia soil right?, first cycling your tank, this soil is notorious to continue leech ammonia for a month.
but it is a good soil nevertheless.
Be patient , after your tank is fully cycled then only worry about parameter. We will guide you from there.
i assume you have knowledge in cycling tank right?

Added on May 6, 2012, 3:24 amYes, i'm using chiller temp is set to 24'C, CRS are breeding,most of the female got berried, notice 2nd batch of shrimplets emerging. First batch have grow double their initial size

I'm now experiencing keeping crs in fan cooled tank, temp 26'c - 28'c,
so far the lone golden crs survive for more then a week, gonna introduce some more crs into the tank to try out.
Internet info state that at that temp it hardly breed but there is nothing to lose in trying.

just finished cleaning mah tanks..5 hours lol
found out a few little shrimps inside my filter again..

I never success breed RCS so far and never had a chance to berries as well. my experience only yamato success to carry egg but fail to breed

yamato need brackish water to breed... no hope in fresh water tank

RCS will breed easily if ur water is cycled and maintain in good condition

got a question, shrimps and crayfish, do theyt mix well?
read some are ok with those dwarf crayfish, some i heard ended with tragic ending.
what do you guys think?

I AFRAID MY FILTER MEDIA in my hob is insufficient for bacteria to cycle nitrogen in 2ft tank.huhuhu. the hob is as big as eheim liberty 1500l.huuu. can anyone advice on this matter?

Remove one of those plug-in sponge that come with the HOB , put it more media, then add in one more air driven sponge filter in the tank.

done that already. i think it is like not enough lor.is it enough actually?

put circular sponge on the inlet like those sponge filter, they can at least hold small amount of good bacta, but will greatly reduce intake flow when clogged IMHO

are u injecting co2 ? if no then can add separate sponge filter or even k1 media NA selling them, google for more info about k1 media
