I think it should be OK as long as it's not overdosed. Pretty much the same as when we inject CO2 in our tank... as Excel is just carbon but in liquid form.
I'm also injecting CO2 into my tank & dose flourish comprehensive 1x or 2x a week... shrimps are doing fine... of course... have to be careful on dosage

Also dosing BW Lush.

For me it was more on the failure when I initially set up the plants... thankfully not on shrimps.
Guess as long as enough homework is done beforehand the damage could be less/avoided altogether. Then again... it's why we have forums here... to learn and share
