Does anyone know where to get a matte(anti glare) screen protector for laptop of this size? Does Lowyat or Digital Mall have them?

Hi ppl, I'm planning to get a dv6/7, any known issue in this model that I should be aware of?

Btw, if any1 kind enough to check whether this model can extend warranty in malaysia? I'm asking because I saw an attractive offer in garage but not sure about the warranty.

Guys, using the 6001tx here.
Since a few months back my laptop has been really slow as in REALLY slow.
Boot time everything.
Even surfing LYN on Chrome will be laggy->not responding-> crash.
It was never like this before.
And the fan, is really noisy.
And the heat coming out from the vent is really hot, I put my cup of water beside it, the water turned warm after awhile.
This has never happen before, and when I sleep my laptop, and when I switch it on again, the wireless driver,ati will crash.
Any idea what's wrong with it ?
This laptop cannot die, I have so much uni work in it
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Any particular program eating up your system resources? Open Task Manager and check it.

I just bought dv6 c19tx and got warranty about 1 year. Can I extend it and how much I had to pay for it?

Acid,you already use that version of driver?

err.. currently using v8.95 January 17. installed on top of Leshcat's 12.1a.

after I install driver from the link you gave,i get v8.93..why not v8.95?

That 1 is official 12.1.. official 8.95 will be release on March.

What noice? Fan spinning noise? Fan grinding something noise?

You can restore if u still have the recovery partition.. backup your important file 1st.

can we set our laptop to use power saving gpu whenever we switch on our laptop? (connected to power supply but without battery)

Oh btw, what's the new HP driver and the Ati driver for the laptop ?
I wanna install them, might solve the Ati crashing issue.

sorry to hijack that person question but im also wan to get some1 opinion on this 2 ASUS A43TA-VX047V vs dv6-6c19tx?

im only interested with ati graphic and the quadcore they both offer that i wish to assign 3 cores for my virtual machines. are these good? i need it for running multiple instances of vm, heavy multitask and at least medium gaming to low-medium gaming requirement for most games available.

I don't think u can do it without battery plugged in. =\


Maybe there is some process running that make the cpu hot even when idling. Check Task Manager again?

Anyway, try this method about graphic not responding.. change the value to 5 or 6.

I suggest get 6C19TX because Llano processor are not really meant for heavy computing even tho it's a quaddie.


Like i said in PM, it is the same GPU. 7690M XT is a rebadge of HD6770M but like forumer story20 has shown, 7690M XT got more headroom to overclock without changing the voltage.

Read here about the meaning of overclocking..
