QUOTE(ben3003 @ Dec 31 2011, 06:50 PM)
today i test drive PE, flx se and myvi 1.3 new one.. For PE, it is comfortable, the seat is just nice, and powerful enough. BUt i dont like the car it owes lower the gear even i slightly press the pedal abit.. feel like u gonna be very gentle on the pedal.. else will sudden lower gear.. and also the persona break, got that kind of sound >< i very dont like, can fix one? Like u press brake then will got tat krukk krukk or rubbing sound.. I think is not wear and tear problem.. flx se new one also got tis kind of sound.. very annoying.. and persona back seat is really suffering.. but seems like if h-line persona the back seat is little mroe comfortable to seat in..

myvi 1.3 same as my old myvi, except that it is less noisy and steering not bad for city driving. Din try long distance, cos around the test drive area no very long de road.. not much complain on myvi, except no boot but it is already a fact.. but myvi on bumpy uneven road not so smooth like persona, persona NVH is really best among the three..

then flx se.. the cvt need time to get use to it.. drive cvt very easy fall asleep, cos the car sound is da same lol.. no downshift or upshifting, the NVH is worst among all.. but no tyre sound la.. just campro engine sound sibeh loud.. and flx se on uneven or bumpy road have same feeling with myvi, perhaps stiffer abit the spring..

overall, i am pleased with myvi and persona.. but myvi car no proton car special sound effect.. persona alot of unexplained sound.. i guess i am more lean towards myvi.. but still dilemma on the boot space.. cos city drive only most of the time.. at Miri if wan travel, normally can only travel by air.. not much choice.. my work also not really need me drive to drive 100-200km outstation. I guess myvi se might be my choice la smile.gif but i really like persona comfort level...
*
Hmmm if u mean the braking sound like this...

Sorry there is no cure except for changing the whole brake system..
Overall if u are going only in town, 10km here and there it wont be a wise idea to get a PE lah..
First short distance travel really sucks fuel.
Short distance driving with a lot of traffic light is not good, as PE are at its worst FC during accelerating, due to heavy car and poor low end torque.
It might not be really the most convenient car to park around anywhere in the city..
But if u still prefer a car with boot u can go for Saga FLX, NVH can be improved dramatically with insulation. and u still get Lotus tuned handling.. But of course dont go race with jasondotcom, he will smoke u into the next century.. tongue.gif

I go there u be my wingmen. biggrin.gif

Why u never come.. Chicks by the truckload.. Drunken chicks everywhere.. Right after new year saw my first vag1na of they year after being flashed by a drunken hot chick.. Too bad if her friends were not around, I got siham to eat ady..

2nd chance came when another girl pissed drunk was alone beside the lift.. She vomited all over the lift at gardens 6th floor, and she was so pissed drunk she didnt mind following us back.. Haiz too bad one of my friends decided to help her out nicely.. If not free siham to eat again..

go claim before warranty end.. the hassle stuff comes when u have to take leave cuz sc repair work is only at weekdays..

so far, in dec

change iafm twice.. -they take one day to settle this

pipe leaking at waterpump - another full day job

alternator/battery light on & off - dunno what cause it but now ok..

ecu error - check engine on after they retune the ecu.. work to be cont this tuesday pulak...
*
Hmm for a better place i recommend Intan Matang SC in shah alam.. They are opened everyday, 9am-5.30pm. Can claim stuffs from them during weekends also.. But just the sad part is due to them being a small SC, they only keep stock for parts with common problems.. Those a bit rare cases like pipe leaking at waterpump mb have to wait for them to order parts first and come back another day to fix.

QUOTE(min_fei @ Dec 31 2011, 11:02 PM)
Any 1 have any idea on Stealth pad?

http://www.bendix.com.my/stealth.asp

available for persona ???
*
LOL those are not some special stealth pads as they claim.. Its still semi performance pad with technology to keep braking noise low.. Cos semi performance pads like these are normally having a semi-metallic compound.. Which creates a lot of screeching sound when braking at slow speed..
What they call it is Bendix Metal King Titanium.. RM110-130 only excluding installation for PE. Pads are good but wear out fast.. But definitely lesser brake dust compared to OEM pads.

yup.. that kind of brake sound... even flx se new car 70km driven also got same problem >< if proton can do better in QC, sure their car can tapao perodua sales anytime anywhere..
*
Nope its not a problem.. Its due to the fact that the brakes are not powerful enough to hold on to the disc and the disc starts slipping a bit.. Generally why u dont have that problem in other car cos they have Brake Assist system which helps to brake harder for u in very slow moving traffic, so u dont have the same sound occuring.. U can test this on a car which has brake assist, when going very slow <10kmh u tap the brake lightly to slow down but not powerful enough to make it come to a complete stop. The brake assist will help u to stop the car..

ic ic..thanks for your advice...then may i know whether this type of brake pad can reduce noise as what u posted in post#1130??

actually i am planning of changing a new brake pad.. icon_rolleyes.gif
best form nao ceramic brake pad,
bendix mental king titanium,
bendix general CT,
bendix STEALTH

which 1 better? my aim is to reduce the brake noise as posted by ZenGTMM and has a better brake performance..

icon_question.gif
*
For performance Bendix MKT.. But as for the sound i posted in #1130, u can easily eliminate it by pressing the brake slightly harder when u are coming to a stop or u can just shift ur gear to N when waiting in traffic.. Shifting ur gears between N and D often does not spoilt ur gearbox..

QUOTE(Cavino @ Jan 1 2012, 03:57 PM)
Based on what ben describe, I gues Zen is right. PE short distance FC sucked. I usually go mid distance, so PE is very suitable. Its my own preference I don't like car without boot for safety and convenient sake. However if you already have a car at home with boot, usually does not carry stuff or stocks for work in car boot, I guess Myvi will be safer bet.
However MyVI 1.3 auto damn no power. Extremely dislike its acceleration, for me its practically same with PE but PE had advantage of stability, not empty tin feel. If manual, its pretty ok for city drive. I guess in the end, still its lighter kosong tin does translate to lighter and better FC.

Both fan not running when overheated with engine started.....
Both running if I turn off engine......

Going to cose at 5k service to check temp sensor as it is showing below 90deg when car stall...
When turn to ignition on position it show redline temp.ady

No more going up genting with D......I think the gear change too much on D....

I doubt it is overheating due to drive from pd to genting.....did stop the car twice for 15mins interval....
*
Hmmm.. then the sensor somewhere must have been slightly faulty.. Causing the fan not to spin and the temp reaching redline..
Gear change too much wont cause engine stalling lah.. Last time genting TT all was speeding from kl and going uphill all the way also non of the cars got overheat.. and that time i didnt have any mods yet.. Still on stock filter also.. So my car was basically changing gears like mad..

Thanks.. if normal drive no hard pedal what's the FC? cause interested to buy PE as my first car.

Currently deciding between PE, Saga FLX SE and the new P3-21A.
*
Normal driving FC will be around 8L-8.5L/100km.. with 50% highway 50% city drive.. It depends on ur speed also.. If u never go at speeds above 90kmh, FC is around 7.0-7.5L/100km..
Recommended mods to improve FC is LCP, spark plugs and drop-in air filter..
Mb u can hold on a bit longer first for the P3-21A specs to come out.. Mb if the price is slightly different it might be a better buy..

As long the new model when launched not using PERSONA tag and at the diff price then PE I will be very happy..... I wan PE to be the last in p1 persona prod line.....no more new PERSONA....
*
Well looking at the Proton's tradition of naming local cars.. I dont think they will use back the Persona tag..
Most of the international companies use it to built branding and brand loyalty as well as cult following..

QUOTE(razkal @ Jan 2 2012, 07:01 PM)
The FC figures not really that bad as i've expected if its come from the stock engine without mod. The thing im worried about is only pickup from the car as i dunt want to rev the engine too much in order to get the car moving (FC reason).

I'm leaning more towards PE hline auto. But if the P3-21A come early as in in March 12, i'll get that one.  Hoping the price will not be more than 65k.  icon_idea.gif
*
See see first.. Thursday is just a few days away only.. hehehe.
Yeah i also dont like to rev the car too hard.. But u will have to get used to how the car response first lah.. When u get the car new the FC will be high.. Its only after travelling about 20k+ km will the FC keep on reducing.. PE engine feels more and more livelier the more u use it cos the engine runs in more..

but the new model model onli will be launch after march..according source from other forum
*
thats what they say.. But i can say this P3-21A is going to launch earlier than that.. Mb delivery only starts later.. But i have a strong feeling proton is prepping for launch b4 CNY.. Anyways as to the launch date and price we wont get to know so fast yet.. The most important thing now is the specs.. I want to see the specs..

Im hoping for the CFE engine, with CVT, better driving dynamics and more comfortable interior.. Comfirm if fitted to the car body of around 1300kg, the acceleration sure around 9secs for 0-100..

Rm70 expensive?
*
HMmm RM70 seems a bit expensive to change headlamps.. Sometimes u can even go to the original Proton SC there and request them to switch the headlamps for u while u are doing servicing there.. As far as i know COSE are willing to do that.. Cos i have seen a fella bring those LED style tail lamps to change in his Gen2..

Hi All

Persona 1.6 H-Line worth to buy right now?
Year 2011 cash rebate 3k.

Comparing with Kia Forte SX & EX
But no cash rebate
Just free upgrade to leather seat

Wanna trade in old Waja 2001, just to get rid of this old car as the price for trade in, is on the lowest level, if drag a bit longer guess i will get a shitty trade in price.

Care to advise, consider to use as a spare car at home.
*
Hmm if u are planning on keeping the car for long term i guess just wait another 2 more mths for the new P3-21A..

If u talking about workmanship for changing headlights for RM70, yes. Very expensive. Changing it urself wont take more than 10 mins.
Here's something to hopefully speed it up.

*
Nope.. Definitely more than 10 mins.. Changing headlamps require u to remove ur bumper to access another 2 more screws on the bottom part of the headlamp.. Those screws are impossible to reach without removing the bumper..
