If car has no layered protection (glass layer, wax layer, etc), any swirl or minor scratch hit straight into the paint. Any compound that lighten or remove such scratches actually works by remove a tiny layer of paint off the affected area. So the more you use, the thinner your original paint gets.

Advantage of layered protection is when a minor scratch or swirl damage the car paint, it hit the upper layer protection first (compound, etc). After that only penetrate the car paint. So when removing such damages, it remove the layered protection and if hit paint, then remove very very tiny bits of the paint if any at all (very minor scratches ala swirl damage). Wax works as such layered protection but like almost all non-long term protection, it will be remove thru car wash, weather, etc after a very short period, ie. 2-5 washes. After that, no layered protection.

Thats where those long term glass compound comes in, it wears off very very slowly, from 1-5 years (depending on compound use). It generally stays bonded and don't wash away easily (due to hard bonding with paint) during rain nor car wash.

Which is why I always recommend those glass compound polishing that does 1-5 years protection. Every normal car wash, the car will looks just like coming out from polishing, even after 6 months. The protection stays at all time. Wonders if those permanon and opti seals does the same for long term or not. You can always say, reapply lor....but if you really need to reapply means the protection already thinned enuf for any swirl to go thru, that means damage first, the protect. Unless like lube changing at 5K, you always apply BEFORE the protection even begin to thin.

Permanon is a proven product, endorsed by VASG and Lamborghini too... Those who have doubts, one easy search you can find a lot of proof, reviews, and video.

Permanon is resilient enough to last just like Sierra Glow, Ultra Glass, GZox, PPS etc etc that you can name... All I can say is, there difference are only in name, pricing, slightly different compound such as Glass vs Teflon vs Rubber...

Yes, you can always polish then reapply... Cheap? Expensive? They can offer you 2 years warranty? 5 years? But you need to go back to do maintenance? You know you just paying the warranty each time yourself?

i had applied the permanon thingy to my car 2 days ago..and the result/outcome was not like what i had in mind..i seriously think that u really need to polish ur car first then apply the permanon. since im newbie in car care, i think i had made some mistake....because i didnt wash my car before washing with brilliant shine( i just follow their instruction just wash with brilliant shine and also because i did this at my parking lot)..there are dusts,micro particles on my car and having washed with brilliant shine with micro fibre cloths,gathers a lot of micro scratches on my bumper...i think i need to redo the application. polish first to remove the swirl marks, water effects,all the sticky things that still stuck at surface..then apply the permanon...even though with all the hassle, my car still shines..hehe..
ps: one thing i notice, most of other polish and waxing will make ur colour a bit darker whilst giving more glass effect..my car looks like normal
but with more glass effect..

i mean normal wash..to remove all the dust..also use brilliant shine.....mau habis i punya brilliant shine+ had to get a few bucket of water..

I used 3 bucket system    .....1st I hosed down the car nicely, remove all those big dirt....1 bucket to wash the car body, another bucket for the car bottom or bodykit where all the grime stucked and tyre rims, and another later on to wipe dry after another hosed down.... total 2 microfibre (washing & drying), 1 sponge (car bottom and rims)
