Only 36.4 mil shares open for retail non-bumi public out of 2.18 bil shares to be floated. So in other words only 1.6% chance for me to get a share in the IPO. sad.gif

I intent to apply but will look through the prospectus first before making a final decision. Current prospectus in the SC webpage is not complete, still got a lot of blanks.

I dont think Felda Global will be priced attractively for the IPO though. This is because Najib kept saying the listing of Felda will be a "windfall" for the settlers. Based on common logic, a windfall for the settlers means a downfall for the IPO buyers.

Agreed that Felda IPO may most likely be overpriced, and even more overpriced if Palm Oil Prices corrects from its peak! hmm.gif

But... if you look at past GLC IPOs, such as Maxis, Bumi Armada, MSM and Petronas Chem, many would have argued a strong point on its high-side valuation...

having said that, looking at their stock performance isnt that bad after all? at least not below its IPO price for sure and for now smile.gif

From a valuation standpoint, those counters are fairly valued IMHO with MSM as the exception. Anyway, there are two scenarios that are going to happen.

a) The IPO will be priced at the high end to satisfy the demands of the settlers.

b) The IPO will be underpriced to create an illusionary wealth effect for the settlers when the stock goes pop on the first day of trading.

Felda Global is very interesting as it is one stock that many institution investors wanna get laid on. I will read its prospectus when it is out but I am not too eager on this IPO. Many commodities business are listed right at the peak of the cycle though with PERFECT timing. (eg. Glencore, Wilmar etc) I am more interested about the listing of Khazanah's IHH.

I called Maybank Investment today and was informed that the price is RM4.65 and listing in 2nd quarter. In my view, it should be in June. IPO will be in 2-3 weeks time.

from The Edge Daily - "according to the draft prospectus, FGVHB has 323,587ha of oil palm estates of which 53% consists of oil palm trees that are more than 21 years old.."
Whether it is worth or not to apply, you be the judge. one analyst value the IPO at RM3.90 taking into account its EPS of 27 cents and the above
oil palm trees have an average life of 25 years.
Compared with FGVHB, 71.9% of Bumitama's total planted area is made up of immature and young plants. The rest are at the prime age of 7 to 18 years. Hence, Bumitama's growth potential far exceeds FGVHB
Little wonder that Bumitama's IPO closed with a 27.5% premium above its offer price in Singapore.

Please clarify - what is the total hectarage of Bumitama? we need to look from the perspective of yield as well to make more meaningful comparison.

To me 51% area planted with trees of more than 21 years would mean the trees are at its peak in producing fruits. As i have said i'm more interested to look at the yield per hectare.....for comparo basis.
