Please clarify - what is the total hectarage of Bumitama? we need to look from the perspective of yield as well to make more meaningful comparison.

To me 51% area planted with trees of more than 21 years would mean the trees are at its peak in producing fruits. As i have said i'm more interested to look at the yield per hectare.....for comparo basis.

hi,
the productivity of palm trees are like peak at 8 to 15 years and then go down hill from there.
21 year consider old palm and its yield would continued to drop from there untill 25year where normally replanting would start.

estate with old palm (20 to 30 years) would need to pay more for the harvester coz they have to use long pole to reach the bunches.

wat's the yield from felda ??

In my opinion, FGVHB fundamental may not look good, but this stock price not only influence by economic numbers, but also strongly affected by political condition. Since BN is strongly supporting this project, i think they will try hard to make this IPO seem successful. Just my view. is that correct?

this IPO is almost certain making the shareholders money when it's listed but the outlook and fundamentals wise dont seem too optimistic, at least from the prospectus.

Hit and run maybe? well, that's if you can hit it.

From the Edge, "to compare the growth potential, 71.9% of Bumitama's total planted area of 119,162ha is made up of immature and young plants. the rest are at the prime age of 7 to 18 years. the company also owns 72,786ha of plantation land waiting to be planted....In contrast, 30.7% of FGVHB 's planted area is made of immature and young trees. Trees from the age of 10 to 20 years account for 16.4% and roughly 52.9% of the planted area was of old trees.."
As the Felda issue is political, it is likely investors would not make any loss but would probably not make much profit
And again the Edge reported..."the replanting will keep FGVHB's profitablity under pressure.... this means FGVHB will need to spend RM2.6 billion on replanting over the next 5 years, the OSK report said.

Unfortunately, I do not have the OSK report. International investors will of course do their maths properly before bidding. It is my opinion that the bid price would be at the low end of the scale. Well good for us local investors too.

At 4.10, you might not see a huge jump considering this is not really a goreng stock at that price. I would optimistically predict it might go to 4.6-4.8.
