Hi everybody... The flooding in KL for the past 2 evenings are really worrying to say the least, on both jln tun Razak & sultan Ismail that I may use to go KLCC. I work outside KL & rely on twitter check to know The traffic condition. I'm planning to take the afternoon off to go earlier, can't risk getting trapped in the huge traffic jam! My slot is midnight to 3am. Guess I'll have bear with more expensive parking fee for going there early! Suddenly the additional cost just escalated further... Keeping my fingers crossed... ><

Yes, keep us updated on the turnout, so others can expect how long to queue for Fri and Sat session. I've booked my spot for Sat session.. hopefully no need to wait 5-6 hours like last year

thsoe with iP4 experience can share? pre-launch 1 be there, then do they get some queue thing during the session too? Or they suppose to queue along with the launch session? Are they suppose to get in the hall 1st so that later by launch event the queue not that long? Maybe the registration and document get done early 1st before the session so they just later sign n take the device? |

I believe the whole point of going early (other than to soak in the atmosphere) n queue up is to get the queue number sooner. Once the sale start you'll be called to the counter sooner. Last year at TheGardens Maxis had 60 counters to process the purchase. Hope they have even more counters this year?

According to Maxis, those in 9pm-12am slot will be getting their phones if they have a confirmation email. Therefore, by 12am, the second slot ppl will come and que for their phones.
If the event is properly organized, it should goes as Maxis planned but hard to say. Even for myself, i would see the weather tonight... |

What technique they use to serve the customer this year? Is it same as last year where we go to our booked slot and queue to get the ticket number then we may go shopping sambil cari makan, then when our number approaching then Maxis would Call/SMS us to come back to the hall to proceed to the registration?

At VIP HALL. not too many people here. I went to
The publish hall , fuking long queue. At VIP hall, maxis will process your registration and purchase now. Comes 12am, merely collect the phone. Lucky draw at 1:30am. Don't be too happy being in the VIP area. I was at the VIP area last year. At 12am, all hell will break lose and it's no different from the rest. In fact, it's even more disorganized.

That's the problem with Maxis. If everybody can turn up and purchase the iPhone even when they're registered for other time slots, why bother with the booking in the first place. In the end, every suffers with the extreme long queues and wait time. I was one of the suckers who queue till 4.30am last year at Gardens and i told myself I'm never doing it again.
It's a bloody torture. |

just got home! arrived at 630pm and got number 1038. in the "first 40" group to enter the hall at 12am. attended interviews by few TV stations and media and was quite late hence go home to do the phone activation myself. still syncing now.

Just back... Maxis execution was shit.
Line up first didnt mean get first queue number. Spoke to some ppl who was 15 and 17 in line. They got queue number 40+ And the people who were LATER than them got queue number 12! Horrible ... really shitty execution... |

I reach there at abt 10.45 pm n saw the super long queue, and some ppl even sit on the floor, then i gave up and decided to go home sleep, well have a bad experience previously that need to wait 4-5 hrs, heard some good n bad experience from here, hmmm not sure should i go n queue tomorrow morning, anyway my slot suppose to be 12am..

those on 12am to 3am time slot is much luckier than 9pm to 12 am prelaunch slot. I reach there at 8.45 pm and queue up 1 hour just to get it. by that time the queue is not moving and people start sitting on the floor and we have to wait till 12 am to get the phone. Maxis wanted people to queue up for the hype but treat us more like a cattle as there is no place to sit and no entertainment for us. the media keep taking photos, good for Maxis, but stupid for us. when I got my iPhone at 2.30 am. there is no queue outside.

No worries got plenty of stock. Once you have ROI you definitely able to buy picture below one of the collection booths. I saw something shocking when collecting my phone, the person arranging the iphone dropped one box from the 3 shelf right to the floor

Guys, I just got back from the convention centre.. as of right now 11am, not many ppl in queue.
Go now if you are around KLCC area. I reckon the queue will swell at lunchtime. |

was in kl sentral this morning at 8.30
saw a notice stating that iphone 4s line starts here store opens at 10am but there was no one then and i had to attend a meeting at 9am so i left and came back at 9.50 after my meeting there was 6 pp in the line and i was number 7 (at 9.55am) best part is that the 3 person in front of me wanted to purchase the phone outright - hence need not register so i was in essence number 4 but there was 2 counters so in the end i was the 2nd person served got my iphone at 10.30 total 30mins wait so best place is clearly maxis kl sentral but only thing is that they have limited stock per day, i.e. total 30 units 20 units of 16G, 16 units and 2 units of 64G i believe today's stock have been accounted for suggest to line up there tomorrow instead hope this helps! |

Just collected my phone from convention centre. Arrived at 430PM although my slot was 6-9PM. Process was fast and surprisingly the crowd was little. There was no queue at all. They do provide cutting service for micro-sim. They have counter for accessories inside the hall, if you haven't had any.

Both me and my wife also received SMS from Maxis asking us to collect our iPhone 4S tomorrow at KLCC, sloted for 4-7pm. Based on this kind of response, I thought that this time around they have done pretty well.

Got mine in less than 30mins 32GB White. I went during lunch time to Penang Maxis Center at Northem Tower. Extend my contract for another 12 months. No hassles and que. Overall I can say that Penangite not excited as previous iPhone 4 launch. My friend said still stock available in some other places in Penang.

No issue if you miss your slot. Can just go tomorrow to buy. Not many people, just now my timeslot at 10-2 PM, I come at 12.30 pm by 1.15pm already complete, no queuing or need to wait number at all.

but when i called 123 just now, they told me that it's only for pre-booked unit. so now i'm not sure whether to go or not. can someone there help me to clarify this? thanks a lot |

I was in the Convention Centre from 11am - 5pm today and judging by today's crowd, I would suggest that you guys go to the convention centre to get your iphones.
Everything can be done under one roof. Payment, Collection, Activation. And ALOT OF STOCK. |

My gf booking slot suppose to be tomorrow morning session (Sat) 10am-12pm.
She heard her friend said that tonight session not many people. So we went to KLCC to try out our luck just now. (since we passby that area.) They allowed us to buy it. We printed out the confirmation email on the spot, filled up the purchase form and a friendly staff help us to key in all our information using iPad. After that we collected the number and straight to the hall, and there are around 40 counters. Most of them were available.Confirmed our details and paid. i check in Maxis website, stated that for Free Local Calls 333 mins, below notes writes;
"Free for limited time promotion starting from 16th December 2011 until 15 January 2012" does it mean after 15 January 2012, my calls no more free for 333 mins a months ? Found this statement in Maxis' website:
Maxis reserves the right to rescind some of the privileges of the rate plans should the registered line not be used with the purchased iPhone. Does it means than I must use the plan with the iPhone? Or they never really implement it? Also another 'stupid' question, is the iPhone from Maxis 'unlocked'? Means I can use it on other networks? I'm at klcc convention centre..it was 9.15am and the queue was already outside of the building..
I really hope they differentiate those with ROI and walk ins... |

Live report here too...Jus now turn to ttdi Maxis centre around 8:35am,bout 30 ppl queing. ..decided to come klcc try my luck.Jus reached hall 1,ord long Q until outside...estimated 200-300 ppl kua...hope they hav sufficient enough counter to settle me asap...wish me good luck for hunting...

Just come..the system is very systematic..there are 40 counters..it's so fast..

Yup i will said well done by maxis this time. Everything organize well. Including Customer care,which mineral water,teh tarik and pop corn was provided. Its only take me an hr to Q...almost40 counter was full function. Very fast my turn lo
