Hi fellas, would just like to share a bit on the yellowgate issue. Seems there are 3 kinds of screen colour tones so far reported for the iPhone 4S. Please do not remind me that 2 of those are iPhone 4 and only one is a 4S. Its not easy to assemble 3 iPhone 4S with differing screen tints like this together =.= But they did a poll on Macrumors (took this pic from there) on which colour tones of 4S screens did they get and there has been owners for all kinds with the yellowest of tints the highest. Here is a picture for reference of the different kinds of tints. Seems its a common so-called "issue" which was caused by Apple engaging more than 2 screen manufacturers to satisfy the demand for units. 2 that I know of are LG and Samsung. Right and middle ones are acceptable but NOT the one to the right. To me the middle one (just my personal preference though) looks the nicest with the left slightly more bluish than normal and the one to the right...piss yellow.... So guys, recommended to unseal and make sure you check your screens when you get your phone. (On full brightness and off auto brightness).

QUOTE(Eidilfitrix @ Dec 13 2011, 09:53 PM) I'm not sure. Can anyone clarify if prepaid users could enter and purchase the phone? Added on December 13, 2011, 9:55 pmIf the confirmation ID email has your name on it, then it is okay to attend the launch without your mum but you need to convert to principal line first. NOTE: It is okay to have 2 principal lines in 1 account (billing account that is under your mum) QUOTE(MEngineer @ Dec 13 2011, 10:01 PM) You will need his IC as Maxis will cross check with the confirmation email before letting you get a queue number. i see.. noted.... but should one convert its line to postpaid before actually attending the launch? or its possible to convert it there eh?? anyone here can help a brother out?

I've got my second attempts to replace the phone, still yellow! Btw, seems like the problem existence, and the chances of getting the yellowish screen is pretty high, some people have even replaced for 4 to 5 times still remain the issue..just for sharing

Yellow like the one to the most right of the picture? Because I think that looks just bad.... If its like the middle one then its acceptable and in my opinion looks the nicest.

I read somewhere, they said the yellowish is due to mass production, they are rushing to produce the products due to demand. This yellowish is due to (something) wasn't dry enough, give it another 2-3 weeks then it will be okay.

Check this article out and read some of the comments below: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/10/19/iphone-4s-u...h-display-tint/Some people feel that the blueish/cool screens are the ones with problems.

QUOTE(Eidilfitrix @ Dec 13 2011, 09:46 PM) From what I know, most ATM cards are debit cards. Eg. my CIMB ATM card can also be used as a debit card. It will show on your card whether it supports debit or not Added on December 13, 2011, 9:47 pmYes. Are you planning to get 2 phones on the launch day? My CIMB ATM doesn't have Debit card function. It is a normal ATM card. So anyone here know whether we can use ATM to pay during the launch?

Btw one method to make the glue dry faster, on the iPhone at full brightness and put auto lock to "Never" and leave it on for as long as you like while connected charging. This will speed up the glue drying process.

This is a major problem, so I hope u guys don't get too excited for getting your new phone this week Probably its due to the glue? Try and speed up the glue drying process. Try this: 1. On brightness to full and turn off auto brightness 2. Plug your phone and charge 3. Change auto lock to "Never" 4. Leave it on for 2 or 3 hours 5. Check if there is a difference I've seen some users who did this to speed up the glue drying and have reported a huge improvement on their screen colour tone

I asked the i4S users in this forum in V2 and V3 and they said there was nothing wrong with theirs. Hope this is just a problem with the earlier batches. Guess there's some good in getting it late

QUOTE(jgfs @ Dec 13 2011, 10:11 PM) Did you try that for your 4S? Any changes? I've never tried that method but I've seen people who have and mentioned they see huge improvements. From the pics I've posted, it looks like the one on the right when I purchased. But not as bad. Had my phone for close to two weeks and its now like the middle or slightly clearer. By the time I read about the fix my phone screen was already much better.
