Job Description and Responsibilities :-

- The club is a feng tau cheong (underground dance club) in the Klang Valley area. You must have an open mind for the music. Genre's played are usually feng-taoish english and chinese remixes. Though at times we drop some hardstyle, hard techno or hard house to spice things up. But those genres aren't the focal point of the night.

- No club experience neccesary, but you should know the basics of mixing. You must be able to hold a mix, no trainwrecks (lari kuda), no dead air and you should be able to improvise in certain situations (e.g. CD taking too long to eject and the end of the track is apporaching).  We do not have the budget if you're an experienced DJ, so we're specifically looking for new DJ's who are looking to play out.

- We will guide you. If you're unemployed, studying, on holiday, term breaks, active at night and itching to play out after playing in the bedroom for so long with only your cat or dog as your audience, then this is the job for you.

- *Important* You must show your own iniative in sourcing for your own tracks. We will NOT provide you with any tracks at the start. Over time, we might share some with you.

*
Is it possible for hard trance?

Everyone here sure knows the basic of mixing i think.

Haha cat and dog as audience.

Do you mean here people can play "mp3s" in a club?

This is a great opportunity but sigh unsure.gif

Yo, thanks for your interest bro.

But playing hard trance the whole night will not go down well with the patrons.

This is a true blue feng tau club, you know all those goyang kepala clubs? The music is similiar to what they blast in the pasar malam, to be frank.

Like someone mentioned, the source of the music are mostly MP3's, but we convert them to standard audio format while burning them to CDs to play in the club.

ah so that means it's this 'techno cina' where those clubs are full with e-tards patron... i remember Up2U....music, aiyoyoyo sakit telinga laa..

anyway, i dont think the patrons will give a damn what is on the air (since they're high on drugs btw), try to mix feng tou with techno (not the minimal shitz), some hard house & trance maybe ok?

...just giving suggestions to people who wants to try the audition later. good luck!

It's true to a certain extent that they probaly won't care what's being played, however you have to be careful of the overall flow of the music. If the hard house or trance track sounds good at 175- 180 bpm, then by all means, mix it in.

But bear in mind, the music policy of the club is feng tau, the patrons go there to listen to feng tau, anything else is secondary. It's alright if you wanna layan sendiri and syiok yourself a bit by dropping your favourite tracks of other genres now and then, but dont ruin the flow and dont do it for the sake of pushing your musical opinion or trying to 'educate' them. biggrin.gif

Yea i understand bro, those chinese remix BPM can up to 180+ you can imagine how damn fast is it if you mix trance with it, sigh techno had been destroy by it. Just to clarify things here, i know we can play mp3s or wavs file format in a club but what im trying to tell here is that can we just play our illegally downloaded mp3s in a club like that, as far as i know we have to pay some sort of copyright fee if we wanted to play it in a club or a public event, correct me if im wrong.

in malaysia .. there is almost no rules ... yes copyright is the issue but most of the people don't really care..
i know DJs that uses mp3 tracks for this set... one reason ... it's easy to get songs ..2ndly .. most of those hitz are not on CD but remixed by some other unknown dj from another part of the world ..

the only problem would be illegally downloaded song are usually mp3 quality or lower quality and playing it in the club without some "clean up" might be a bad idea ...

Anyone know where can I get these?

VESTAX PDX 2000 REPLACEMENT FOOT
VESTAX PCV RANGE REPLACEMENT CROSSFADER for PMC-07

Any information used or new would be great as I'm having trouble trying to purchase this from Acoustic & Lighting System Sdn Bhd. Seems like they're no longer Vestax distributors.
