how to set input? coz all my input from cdj to maya, then to mixer....

sorry i'm total noob

without using the T/C ... can u play the song on the software player "without" the controller on your computer?
and if you don't see any light movement on your mixer ...means there is totally no input into your mixer ...

you might want to see this video , to get some idea


make sure your setup up is for "LINE" ... untick/un-set anything to do with "phono" which are used for turntable

i cannot see the video laa...

anyway, i can control the software as usual using touchpad & play music from the software itself.

itulah boring2 ni i go back to basic messing around with virtual dj...now the laptop has been reformatted so until now no performance issue

its slightly cheaper than midispecialist, they're selling it for 530

so mixvibes is a vinyl cd emulation softwatre like the serato that plays timecodes which directs mp3 from the computer?
and the maya44usb is a soundcard much like the serato boc or the fs2 from stanton?

mixvibes is just like Serato
the different is ... serato = fixed price .... mixvibes ... the price is actually depending on your hardware(soundcard)
software probably about 200-300USD only but the soundcard will be the one to determine the final price
if you want a very good setup , then it's easily will cost more than serato but mixvibes is able to support up to 4 turntables in one notebook ..which serato can't..
mixvibes is always improving and updates are all free ...

maya44usb is just one of the lowest end ... (*beside built in Soundcard*) which works well with Mixvibes.

mixvibes is not a VINYL CD emulation software(*does not only apply to CD*) .. but it's more commonly know as DVS = Digital Vinyl System ..
all Rane Serato , Mixvibes , Final Scratch, Torq are categorize as DVS ...

there are pro an cons
serato = industry standard..easily setup... compatible with windows/mac OS .. expensive
mixvibes = upcoming big thing,can support 4 turntables, free updates, can be tricky setting up your hardware to work with mixvibes software ..(*driver issues/OS issues*)
FS/ ToRq = nothing much to comment.. don't know much about them ...

look but as you said, the mixvibes has some diver issues and os issues. so is mixvibes stable?

form what i know people go for ssl because its stable and doesn't crash.
the reason why so many people are refusng to go digital is because of stability issues. people would rather stick to cd's and vinyls because they hardly fail. imagine having a gig and your software crashes...

a good dj will have backup plans ... so even if they crash .. they will have a 2nd plan to make it up ..
mixvibes has an issue because it cannot be customise to use only one soundcard .. ..

the driver issue is because certain drivers work best for certain software... an upgrade to the driver might messed up the compatibility... just like graphic cards... if you update the driver, it might mess up your game ..

so give and take ....if you going to use a DVS system , make sure your laptop is only use for that .. you can't be using it as your daily laptop for your internet/movie/software etc and also your DVS system together in one .. because eventually it will crash on you ...

so u need a "dedicated" laptop for your DVS to reduce chance of it crashing ..

as far i am concern ... mixvibes so far .. never really crashed on me when i'm playing on it ... except when i tried to scratch video ...due to the compression and also codec .. it crash my whole computer.. instead of software..

choongster mixvibes very cool ..... can mix video ..... for the hardware crash issue i got a experience here ..... is in last month at zouk ... my teacher got a set at 1am , that time while i reach is Hitz.fm Jakeman and 2 dont know what name dj spinning , around 20minutes later whole club when silence i tought got raid * i m underage * , later on the manager tell us the serato spoiled ..... woot

i can't remember i showed you or westokan ...
anyway .. just "replace" vinyl = with your CD T/C .... Phono settings to Line Settings ...
does your maya has a "phono/line" switch???

when you play your CD T/C ... does it emit a loud high pitch sound?
if you can use the mixvibes software to play the song (*"without t/c control") , then there probably no problem with your setup but the T/c ...
it's hard to explain in words .. i don't know how to tell you clearly in words ..
