We love Corsair cases! I have 2 Corsair Cases in the office and we recommend most customers to take Corsair cases if they wanted to go "steel". Corsair's sheet metal put CoolerMaster to shame, but then again, you do pay more for it. Well worth the money though

You can fit a 240mm rad on top but you have to move it off center otherwise it will likely be blocked by the mobo VRM heatsink.

What sort of water cooling? AIO cooling like Corsair or custom WC loop? 600T/500R is not good for custom loop at all. You need 800D for that.

I can get you all the parts too tongue.gif

If you wish to use the 500R/600T/650D with Rasa RX 240 kit, you have to mount the rad off center by pushing it outwards a little otherwise it will hit the VRM heatsink. You can mount two 120mm fans inside of the top compartment but you may face some issues with not being able to close the grill depending on what fans you use.

If you wish to push pull, it may not be possible with any of the casings above other than the 800d. sweat.gif.

However, if you get the 650D/600T you can also order a Phobya 200mm rad for the front intake

OH BTW, the H100 can be used to hit 5ghz as well. If you cannot hit 5ghz with the H100, chances are your chip just won't do it

Yup. Most of my customers end up with Corsair and G.Skill rams. Two of the highest quality products in the market with respectable prices:

Ram prices can be found here. Pictured are the 16gb Ripjwas Z CL9 DDR1600. This is the top selling 16gb kit at only RM4xx. The 8gb kit Ripjwas X is the top seller for 8gb biggrin.gif

That fan is for pull out the hot air inside the case one lol..U sure u wanna push dust filter on it ?

if u insists maybe can try those plastic netting or which can be found from Acehardware is actually count by meters then u can get those and get some pin to hold it on the place smile.gif

try to get those with more wider holes which won't block the hot air from coming out smile.gif

something like this: (found on my 600T front panel dust filter)

I am using the 600T here.

Casing was big and easy for cable management. But the casing weakness was i found that component working inside temp are slightly higher temp compare to my old casing CM690 which I put alot of fans on it.

600T ventilation are so-so only. I bet Carbine 400R // 500R will done much more better.

One of the best casings under RM300. Another one is the CM 690 II advanced, which is even more user friendly on watercooling.

I don't think 400R would be able to fit a 240 Rad internally.
Have to mount externally instead.
If you are intending to water cool your system,I would say CM 690 II Advance suits you more.
It supports 240 Rads on top and the bottom.

It can , got spacing for 120mm rad or even 240mm rad at the top

It does support a 240 rad on top , this is the CM690 II contender , it supports up to dual 140mm fan at the top.

A push/pull setup would be tight inside unless pull fans are mounted externally.
Not to be fanboy,CM 690 II is better for water cooling

OFC the CM690 II is better choice if you wanna WC , you just need to remove the bottom HDD Cage , and walla...!

2 240 rad (1 top n 1 bottom).

Though it'll gonna be a snug fit.

You can mount a 240mm rad internally. Only certain radiators would be able to fit. Thick rads would not fit due to the mobo VRM heatsink blocking.

If you can afford the 500R go ahead.
Side 200mm fan.Much better airflow than the 400R.
And bigger space to work on i guess.

Was just suggesting the customer to cut out a window, we do not offer the modification service. Cutting out the bulged out area should be good. A recent forumer criticized that it's quite meaningless to have the interior looking beautiful and all when there's no window to look at it. So that's something the customer could consider. But most importantly, keeping the interior neat makes dusting the PC significantly easier. I use an industrial blower to clean PCs biggrin.gif

Wow....I also want replaced my AMD rig Elite Casing to this Corsair R300.

Est price should be around RM180-230. IF more than RM230 then forget about it.....just too expensive.

Might want to consider SSF Case. Just a suggestion. Good luck. I'm in the same situation. Using 400R before but now CM Elite 431. And I still feel its hard to move around.

before this i sent my 500R i/o panel for RMA. when i got it back (new one), all the connectors' cables will give out the same black residue just like 1qazqaz picture. Could be they have cheapen out the cost and use black powder to coat it i dunno. It is staining my white case quite annoyingly.

been using 400r since august last year. really loved this casing because of its rarity. when all people around me been using CM and i told them i use corsair they go huh and show i-only-know-CM face.

on negative comment is why corsair use the long screw to fit the fan? the screw is too loose to fit inside the round rubber on upper and side of the case and not the correct size to fit in fan screw part.

We built a maximus system in a 650D before, albeit it was the maximus Gene with aircooling only. 650D is a very nice but understated casing as well. 550D is even worse. Never ever seen any inquiry or interest in it.

Well, you can always do the cable management yourself.
All you need is time, knowledge, tools and most importantly PATIENCE.

While I was reapplying thermal paste on the graphic card, I re-route the cables a little bit. They look cleaner now.

I'm planning to put waterblock for graphic card. I can put another 240mm radiator at the bottom. So, I also need ATI 5870 waterblock (koolance / xspc), pump, reservoir & tube. What else I'm forgetting? Other than distilled water (with an anti-corrosion/anti-microbial additive), what other liquid I can use? Preferably non-conductive.

This casing is Corsair's answer to the ultimate Cooler Master 692A.

The C70 does a few thing better than the 692A at additional cost:

1) Accommodates 1 x 240mm x 60mm thick radiator in the bottom compartment with the bottom hdd cage removed. This is similar to the 692A but WAIT!

2) Accommodates 3 hdds AFTER removing the bottom bay. The 692A can only support 2 x hdd bays. With the C70, you can get a 2 x 2.5" to 3.5" bracket and mount 2 x ssd for a raid 0 setup, and still have 2 additional bays to do a raid 0 with mechanical hdd for storage. With the 692A, you can only do 2 x SSD + 1 HDD, or 2 x HDD. There is a work around for this limitation....mount the SSD in the 5.25" bay.

3) Accommodates 1 x 240mm x 35mm thick radiator on the roof of the casing. Again, similar to the 692A.

4) Hard powder coating finish on external frame. Full metal casing (felt that way in person). 692A is plastic + Metal.

5) RM180 more than CM 692A <----Ouch.

Actually, initially I was going to get Graphite series casing but I chose Vengeance casing instead because of two keywords; "... designed for travelling gamers" & "With durable steel construction ...". tongue.gif And of course:-
QUOTE
…and Water Cover, too.

Vengeance C70 is also outfitted for liquid cooling upgradeability. You get 240mm radiator compatibility on top of the case, and if that’s not enough, you can remove the lower hard drive cage to fit a second 240mm radiator for a dual-loop setup.

You're not sacrificing anything since that is the place where you supposed to put 240mm rad. You also can put 240mm radiator at the front if you're willing to sacrifice the HDD bays.

Basically, the 240mm rad will be inside the casing (at the top) while the two 120mm fans at the top under the filter. You can't put the fans inside the casing too because it will block by motherboard.

What kizwan said.

You can do it that way but that's really ghetto. Those two fans aren't going to make a huge difference. Crank down your AC further

Yes you can do like that too. If you're going to setup push/pull configuration (four fans on both side of the radiator), the ideal way is to make sure all four fans have the exact RPM. Of course it is difficult to get ideal setup, so, examine all four fans & the two weaker fans, you use them for pull fans.

if u don't mind the noise level of so many fans then cheers to u hehe..
sometimes, it's not always the amount of fans needed on a radiator to provide good airflow through the radiator for better water cooling effect...

650D and 600T can fit 240mm rad (35-40+MM) and a 200mm Phobya radiator in the front intake with the hdd bay moved to the center. 600T's multiple top grill design restricts a lot of air flow and is a noisier than any other Corsair casing when you install a radiator on the roof. For WC with Corsair casing, it ranks as follow:

-800D (360mm+240mm+120mm)
-C70 (240mm+240mm)
-650D (240mm+200mm)
-600T (240mm+200mm)
-500R (240mm+120mm *if you must*)
-400R (not possible unless rad mounted externally)

We have not experienced 550D and 300R for WC.

just got my corsair 500r white yesterday.
changing from coolermaster haf 912 amd,
i am loving this case from every details of it.
all the holes for the motherboard tray was placed conveniently at the right place.

one complaint thought, i can't seem to be able to munt 120 mm fan at the top of the intake since the screws were unable to hold the fan.
right now only be able to hold the fan using cable tight only.

same problem with 400r casing. the screws provided are not compatible with 120mm fan.. i bought 3 F12 to put on top and side yet the screw were unable to fit properly.need to use a tape hold it. sometime the tape loose and the fan on top fall into my CPU heat sink. sad.gif

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because it lacks additional fan screws for the case. While they are listed on the sheet, you actually get some long screws that you can't use for much other than a heatsink radiator. This is not just with my case, but every person who purchases it comments on it.

They are slightly non-standard case fan screws in that they have larger heads. They have these because there are rubber grommets in the case fan screw holes to prevent noise from shaking, but standard fan screws will slip right through.

You can get replacements shipped out for free from Corsair in theory, but others have commented that the accessory box contains the same pieces as the original (therefore lacking the proper screws).

fyi the screw given by F12 fans does not really fit properly. Time goes by and it will loosen which might result in fan falling off. Go check the thread posted by hieroplant

Corsair 300R

This is an excellent casing. Most people complain that it costs about the same as 400R but TBH, it looks quite a bit nicer than the 400R which is getting old. The only thing that's missing is the rubber grommet. Would be nice if Corsair can stock a bunch of these as RMA parts and sell to us *hint*

Yes. The 300R now comes with full size window with perforated vent. USB3.0 and a brushed plastic front panel akin to those you'd see in Altis and Prius. It can also accommodate 280mm radiator, but you'd need to sacrifice the first 5.25" bay. This casing has superseded 400R to be honest.

it would be really nice if Corsair can provide adapter for their proprietary fan headers in the Carbide series especially the 500R.at least we can replace the front fan and still be able to use the case integrated fan speed controller.

It's possible to mod it to regular 3 pin connector. Getting the connectors and pins conveniently and economically is another question.

Obviously, but for budget constrained people 300R/400R is more than sufficient, was better than those CM Elite series, IMHO.

for me~ if i going to get a new case~
i will go for 400/500r~ honestly 300r is to expansive~
i rather add few rmxx for 400r~

and the window look nice for the 300r~
but~ just the fan mounting spoiled the whole thing~ sweat.gif

At first I'm about to get 400R but when I just heard that 300R comes with a windowed version, 400R totally out of my list. For me, I don't like its bulge out side panel and the firewire port as I think it's useless to me. But once again, it depends on individual taste. Glad you opt for Corsair as your casing. tongue.gif
*
the rubber gourmet and solid build attracted me smile.gif but actually what's the firewire for?
the spacing behind for cable management was too narrow compare to my old usp100 doh.gif

by the way, this is my 400R, got it from CyntrixTech smile.gif

yes, it's the xspc set

well i don't like the idea of routing the cables behind the motherboard..
anyway something will happen when i'm free tongue.gif those are just temporary..
update next time, very busy with other stuff at the moment..

thanks for everything CyntrixTech though quite a number of let downs >.<

can't really hear anything from the pc, even 100% fan speed also not loud

room temp of 33 with about 30% fan speed
temps at idle is 45-48
temps at load is 70-72

wanna ask some off topic question, what's the difference in temperature of 2x GT 1850rpm and 2x AC F12 PWM if both of them use as HSF fans?
worth to top up for the GT fans?

F12 vs Gentle Typhoons? Most people who'd owned both will tell you there is nothing to compare besides price. One is a MyVi Extreme, another a Lexus.

We've written off AC fans completely, even Viewnet has dumped off everything except those left over AC F12 PRO that nobody wants.

Bitfenix Fans are good alternative to AC. Although they do not move as much air, they are FDB similar to AC and a heck lot more well built. Even more awesome fans will be available in our shores. F12 is going to be history soon.

Corsair sent me the required screws after I open a ticket on their support page. Even though Malaysia is not in their shipping list, they still send the screws free of charge.

They sent all the thing inside the small box containing all the required screws and USB 3.0 wire when all I need is just a screws.

hey guys

if im using standard atx size mobo(non micro or what.. just standard). and i want to use CM hyper 212 p/p or mayb CM 612(big size cooler)
i believe i need to choose the Dram(corsair ofcuz biggrin.gif) wisely as some of the DRAM (high heatsink) might block the cooler?

if yes , then normally which ram best for as if i want to use CPU cooler as i mentioned above?

Value RAM or if you want Vengeance then get the LP (low profile), same specs, value and price just with no high heatsink, so it wont black ur HSF installation.

superb, this case can support 2x 240mm radiator out of the box without any mod, recommended for watercooler tongue.gif

It's hard to get a 240mm on the roof without lots of adapters. The radiator in/out if placed towards the bay will be blocked by some internal hardware. The distance between the in/out to the bay is too close to even route a tubing + having enough tubing to push the bay res out for drainage. This casing can only support 2 x 240mm if you go with cylindrical reservoir or use a lot of adapters. Sadly, it's not an elegant solution, not what I thought it would be compared to 692A.

You still need several adapters. But with the bay on 2nd and 3rd slot, there's no need to push the bay out to refill/drain.
