can you confirmed me the specs for y580? i'm looking for that laptop. Not for me, but for my gf. Maybe you can pm me? Cause malaysian y480 was a disappointment. But i think y580 would be better, even if it doesnt come with the gtx 660m. I hope it comes with the gt 650m.

when something amazing was released in US... don't expect too much when it comes to Malaysia. Huge disappointment. Haha.

edit: right, so gtx 675m is a rebadge of 580m. Anyone know whats the difference of power between the 580m and the 660m?

there you go, the y580 will be released 19th june..so if you fail to get the g55 coz finish stock, you can get the y580

I'm actually waiting that laptop for my gf. I'm currently looking at alienware again, probably r3 with gtx 580m

just hope that my laptop will arrive asap and stop my mind from wandering somewhere else. ish

asus thought the g series wont be demanding..looks like they are wrong

If Asus doesn't buck up, I think a lot of ppl may buy the Y580 instead of the G55VW, especially if the GPU is the GTX one. grrr. Pity, as I really like the design for the Asus G55VW.

older graphic, but it still owns the gtx660m in terms of raw power. Last i checked, it was about 40-50% better than the 660m. and yep, m17x.

i'm looking for anything that is 15-17" with FHD, and strong gpu. Cpu can be either 3610, or 2670 or even 2820. Ram/ssd upgrades are more user accessible.. but money la

doubt it. the y570 was already selling at 3.6k. The new y580 will displaced the older model and price range would be the same.

580m uses more voltage compared to the 660m( fermi architecture) and isnt it the m17x bulky, big amd heavy to carry around in the university? ..get your mind straight bro hehe, the g55 will arrive soon

some may find the kepler power efficiency attractive, but sometimes 40-50% of raw power can be gooding too and i cant get my mind straight, cause i'm kinda worry my laptop still wont be available by mid june

and m17x has a similar size to a g55 bro o.o thats why i dont mind getting it.
