Looks like even if you like the G55, have to wait. If you manage to actually get one, & have problem, have to wait. Send for repair, have to wait. email Asus to clarify something, have to wait.

Anyways, Lenovo is coming out with the Y580 which has similar specs. I still prefer Asus but if no choice & Asus dun wan my businesss, what to do?

by the time the lenovo laptops arrive, g55 will also arrive bro...either asus or lenovo, have to wait..but the quality of asus g55 and the looks of the g55 is better and nicer than lenovo bro

where is msi service center? singapore or got 1 in malaysia? i heard the msi laptops very hard to get for service in malaysia? is it true?

but the msi laptops are expensive bro, the msi ge60 which has only nvidia gt660m is rrp rm4399,,that is rm400 more than the g55 which has gtx660m,,.the stronger msi gt60 which has gtx670m is rm5000 above, not sure will be spending that much money just for a gaming laptop...for that rm5000 can get a super powerful gaming desktop. dont mind spending rm4399 for the msi ge60 with gt660m, but the graphic cArd is less powerful than the g55..what do you think bro?

I honestly wouldn't say that. I have my fair shares of interest in the MSI laptops as well after a few frustrating moments waiting and searching for my then G53sx (now G55). You just have to keep watching/reading the reviews about the MSI gt60/70. The materials aren't actually that excellent. If i am to be honest, it is lower built than better built compared to the Asus G series. Also, not to mention their heating system are no where as good as ours. A reviews has stated that the temp heats up significantly during gaming, and the fan can get really loud. I honestly dont recalled Asus being known to spoil easily, they're mostly known for their awful after sales service. MSI on the other hand, has lesser users in Malaysia. So to compare it to Asus, it's kinda unfair. And i'll go back with the same ol thang again, no laptop brands that has a better build quality than the others the only difference it makes is their warranty service. Even Dell has problems with their laptops.

The gt60 has a steel series backlit keyboard, but dont take this as the same as the alienware's keyboard. Alienware's keyboard has a light range that is just nice for the users. But it is still nicer than Asus G series, it is sad that the Asus G55 doesnt come with colors variant keyboard. And don't get me started on the Ge60/70 the first thing that put me off is the pathetic design.

But in terms of performance, MSI offers better deal than Asus G55. I was really into the MSI gt60, and would have gotten that if budget wasn't an issue. Actually, i'd have prefer to get a fully maxed out Alienware m17x if budget is not an issue

what..how dare you talk about the sager np9150 in a g series notebook thread? where is sager service center? the np9150 is powerful,very powerful and with the gtx675m...wow.

two bad things about the sager is that the price is rm5199..and the looks  very disappointing..looks like a business  ibm laptop and doesn't resemblance a gaming laptop like the g55 does..looks is very bad and if im not mistaken, you once posted here that you r not a fan of ibm-looked laptop....what happen to you?

edit: sorry..np9150 contains gtx670m, NOT GTX 675M

Haha yeah, Sager are called Clevo as well. Looks wise, they are indeed disappointing. But hey, if i can stand MSI medieval looks I'm sure I can stand Sager too good thing about sager is, they can be customize easily.
Actually laptops are generally cheaper here in Malaysia. If i'm not mistaken, malaysia really don't charge tax on laptops. Someone pointed that out here before, i don't really remember. But having a nearer manufacturers could also be the reason though. I can't be sure 

and any laptop that has similar or better performance than the G55 will do but are you sure there's a video review about the lenovo Y580 already? Any links? i couldn't find it.

Hahahaha, I kinda give up asking Asus about stuff. I remember when i was worried whether the Alienware that i'm gonna purchase (this is before i ordered my G55) was refurbished or not, i actually called Dell to ask to check for my service tag. Man, the way Dell handle my questions are just superb la. I ended up asking from "service tag" to incoming Alienware models and what kinda service upgrade that they provide. Such a big gap in terms of quality service by Dell and Asus seriously.

Or maybe that guy just happened to be a Alienware fanboy..

If Asus doesn't buck up, I think a lot of ppl may buy the Y580 instead of the G55VW, especially if the GPU is the GTX one. grrr. Pity, as I really like the design for the Asus G55VW.

doubt it. the y570 was already selling at 3.6k. The new y580 will displaced the older model and price range would be the same.

I need to max them to 16gb RAM. For work purposes adobe/cad softwares

but now i'm wondering.. since there are 2 ram slots inside which is not really user accessible. Who's gonna open it up to insert the ram for me? And i'm gonna guess Asus will put the default ram in one of the non-accessible ram slots right? so basically, i have 1 non accessible slot for ram, and 2 accessible slots for ram am i right?

Cause it'll void the warranty? Or maybe i'll rephrase my sentence. Again, asus hotline confuses me on this and from what i gathered here, there are 2 "not really accessible" ram slots inside the G55, and then there are 2 ram slots that easily accessible for the users. I dont know whether it'll void the warranty if i try to insert ram into the "not accessible ram slots" inside the G55. Asus told me i cant access it. wtf? The ram comes with a default Hyundai 1600mhz 4GB ram. The thing is, i'm not sure whether the default ram is in one of the "non accessible slots" or the "accessible slots"

can someone confirm this with me? i'm sick of calling asus hotline cause they dont seem to know what they're talking about.
