got la...... u can see they use chopstick to stir the plastic bottle in the oil..... the plastic will coat wat ever food u fry so it will stay krunchy even left 24 hour

It is a known unscrupulous practice!
And to think some ppl are so fuss about halal but not knowing this is eating plastic is worse!
Swift action is needed to educate public about this bad practice and consistence enforcement be carried out!

some of them, dun care because it's like this, as long it's cook by my own ppl, I dun really care because i have no doubt in my mind it's safe.

i once have to wait to buy a goreng pisang from a famous hawker...i witnessed his work from starting the fire till frying the bananas...but i didnt see any straw or any plastic subtances been put into the hot oil

it's good to educate because some hawkers do it, and we should be made aware.

So don't generalize and get all holy/mighty about it.

i believe the mak cik / aunty @ ah so / indian aunty who we have frequented since young to get our fix of pisang goreng / oily fried ghost / horse leg / vadeh are safe.

Actually, i've heard this since the 80s... but back then thay said pre-packaged 'bawang goreng' is made of straws...

...and also, kuah laksa is added with tissue to substitute fish...

at least i want to see it with my own eye...c'mon man...fried banana are fried openly...so there shud be, by chance, 1 or 2 person witnessed the incident where hawker put straw into the hot oil...from thousands & thousands of costumers, nobody notice meh?

i know mak cik jah wont do it.... shes very ethical, never con ppl in business n not put money first bfore customer health.... with her reputation im sure her pisang goreng is not plastic unlike ssnd
