Some seller here really know on how to open the Alieware and swap other brand of hardware. Physically look like Alienware but inside is something else. You guys that purchased second hand item really should request the original invoice so that you can know if inside is original hardware or not.

Dell does not cover any damage or complication due to CPU or GPU damage. The only seller that capable and vouched personally by me is Kelvin_Sata due to his professional background. Other than him, better safe than sorry.

Also double check on the Ownership Transfer so that you can claim the warranty under your name, not the first hand user. There is certain cases where the seller himself is already a second or third user, thus they also don't know the real owner. This is result in non-claimable official warranty from Dell.

Hi guys,

i was just trying to update my graphics card driver yesterday for the m15x (ati HD5850) to the latest driver available.

Tried two sources, one from ATI website themselves, and one from the Dell Support site for alienware laptops

However when i install both drivers, i get the same issue.

a) Catalyst Command Centre no longer works

b) the highest resolution i can get is 1400x1050

Buy direct from Dell. nuff said.

Get the latest driver from AMD. Use driver sweeper and do a clean install. You might wanna check if its indeed a 5850 inside there.

Not necessarily true.

I did sold an Alienware that directly from Dell Malaysia with cheaper price before. I believe someone else have that capability too, like Viper88.

A guy post on Alienware Official Fan Page and said that his iPad can play BF3 on full settings....................
And he says that Alienware is lousier than iPad.............

Ahhh, with cheaper price. It is fine as long as the owner got his name on the warranty part. Else it will be a mess when its time to claim for warranty.
