www.xda-developers.com/android/ice-cream-sandwich-cm9-progress-revealed/
Cyanogen has been hard at work to bring you the perfect customisation of the latest Android iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich. Almost a month ago the team announced their two month hardcore-development period to put the basic framework in place for ICS to work. They’re succeeding mainly with OMAP4, MSM8660/7×30 and Exynos-based handsets, so if you own those look forward to trying CM9 first. Support has also been boasted for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and ASUS Transformer. Despite issues developing the new Android framework for camera and graphics drivers, the team is confident they can work around this. “There are a number of challenges that we are up against. Google has made some pretty major changes to the Android framework that break compatibility with older proprietary camera and graphics drivers in order to achieve some pretty insane performance, but I am confident that the team will be able to overcome these issues like we have in the past.” If you’re unlucky enough to own the original Motorola Droid, Cyanogen says they’re “dropping support for you. Time to upgrade.” I’m lucky enough to own devices Cyanogen is developing CM9 for first, so when Beta builds are released, I’ll be able to showcase them. I’m looking forward to seeing how CM9 runs on the ASUS Transformer. Added on December 10, 2011, 12:30 amWhich of this is our phone's platform? QUOTE(AlexLai @ Dec 9 2011, 05:57 PM) Original launcher would be TouchWiz UI. It's a Samsung developed launcher, just like HTC Sense and Motorola's Motoblur. File ExpertProbably that's the case. What program are you using to check? QUOTE(aristotletan @ Dec 10 2011, 02:46 PM) When I trying to use Google Maps and enable GPS to detect my location... But it take long-time to detect and still can't detect my location.. Anyone know why? Where is your location? Inside a house? Inside a hall? Inside a shopping mall? Beside a high rise building? In the centre of high rise buildingssssss?? In open area??? Do you allow your phone to use Network location(A-GPS)??? All this affects a lot on locking speed.Firstly, it depends on how far your phone can see the sky(satellites orbiting earth mahhh). Else, depends on how thick ur ceiling/wall is(whether it can penetrate through). Next, depends on how close you are, to the window(window is thinner than wall, easier for GPS to lock on). Otherwise, if you're outdoor, it depends on whether you're close to a high rise buildings(satellites are not always on top of you. If high rise buildings ngam ngam block all the satellites, macam mana nak lock on?? Worst if you're surrounded by high rise buildings Lastly, even in Open area, a field perhaps, it still depends on the cloud and weather. If it's cloudy, harder to lock on. If it's clear sky, locks in seconds or minute. Network location, A-GPS in android uses ur WiFi network location(don't ask me how they know where ur WiFi located |
