Sometime unique would be fine. Why not Nexusian?  thumbup.gif

Hmm, or just Nexian? tongue.gif

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Dec 3 2011, 12:48 AM)
iOS developed closely to couple with in-house designed hardware, while Android was merely something that runs on almost every hardware, if not all.

*
Android on Nexus is about as "in house" as iOS on iPhone gets.

The Nexus is developed by a team consisting members from Google, a hardware manufacturer (Samsung), and chipmaker (TI). The GNex is built to run ICS, this is about as good as it gets in terms of software + hardware integration on Android.

Also, don't forget that iOS is just another operating system. Similarly to Android, it is possible to port iOS to other device too, except that it is close source.

Official Galaxy Nexus dock.

But I don't see any hard button on the dock. Or the Galaxy Nexus screen stays active when docking.  hmm.gif

I guess it does stay on as long as it is on the dock? hmm.gif

How about NexO? Nexus Owner.
*
NexO... more like a shortcut than a "name" hmm.gif Although it does sound quite nice

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Dec 3 2011, 02:15 AM)
Anyway, if TI is designed to run ICS, API might be abolished to achieved much higher performance, over compatibility.
*
I guess they don't call OMAP4 as the ICS reference platform for nothing. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Dec 3 2011, 02:15 AM)
And people will start calling us dull. lol.
With all the screen dumps and JB on iOS, still not possible to get it installed on other devices?
*
iOS is closed source as I've mentioned earlier. If the developer have no access to the source code, how is he able to port it to other devices? Even if it is indeed possible, it is illegal to do so. So you won't be seeing iOS on any other devices except Apple's, unless that guy wants to get himself into trouble.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Dec 3 2011, 02:15 AM)
Aside from acting as a stand for the phone, what else does the dock do?
*
The dock charges the phone too.

yea... dry.gif

but the car dock does look interesting.

and also the (spare) battery charger / phone holder

these are the only 2 docks I find to be at least somewhat practical to have

I stand corrected on Shadowgun not running. Was a botched installation of Chainfire 3D, after uninstall/reinstall of the app and drivers, Shadowgun runs as smooth as it was in Galaxy Note.
*
that's good news I suppose... though Shadowgun is only the beginning of the new wave of high end games

Read that USB OTG is not supported in official kernel. is it true?

*
I guess you'll have to flash a custom kernel to enable it, unless Google implements this in future update.

It's a "clear" type SP right? can you take a clear shot at the screen with the SP applied?

Yup, clear type. Shame if it's matte, blurring the gorgeous screen if it is.

One thing I'm worried about is that it includes an applicator fluid. I am extremely hesitant to apply any kind of fluid to my gadgets.

Also just received my Galaxy Note official Samsung desktop dock as well. rclxms.gif
*
that's what I'm worrying about.. thinking of applying matte surface SP, the SP feels smoother to the touch, but it might be too much to sacrifice the screen quality. hmm.gif

Side by side, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note.

what device did you use to take the shot? I was actually wondering does the SP covers the whole front nicely or is there a clear outline just around the bezel?

A follow up to the "Android graphics true facts" it explains why is Android laggy, while iOS, Windows Phone 7, QNX, and WebOS are fluid.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Dec 6 2011, 12:54 AM)
The browser doesnt come with this feature, or it was disabled (default)?

So far Sammy's browsers never lacked of text reflow yet.

Added on December 6, 2011, 12:58 amNotice in GSM Arena that this phone is called "Samsung Galaxy Nexus" instead of "Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus" or "Samsung Galaxy Google Nexus". Previous Nexus phones naming was "<brand> Google Nexus <model>".

I wonder what is the implication of this new naming, or it wasnt really a Google phone? Did Google changed their name to Galaxy? lol.
hmm.gif
*
Nexus is the Google's part of the name. Calling it Samsung is probably because Samsung manufactured the phone, I don't think there are any other implication.

GSM Arena should called Google Galaxy Nexus or just Galaxy Nexus without the manufacturer name. Same with Google One and Nexus S without HTC or Samsung name infront of it o_O
*
Agree. but calling it "Google", then right after that "Galaxy" feels really weird. lol

Should have named it Nexus Galaxy instead if the Galaxy name must stay, like the previous 2 Nexus, its Nexus ___, not ___ Nexus, if you get what I mean. laugh.gif

If Apple can do it with accessories out before the phone launches, wonder why Samsung can't do it. Hell, in Apple's case, the accessories kinda hints to what the next model of iPhone looks like. Sigh......
*
those are due to leaks... and that's because the iPhone are so popular people would risk breaking the NDA.
On the Nexus side, only Android / tech enthusiast cares, if at all.

The more popular the phone is, the more accessories will be made for it. Its simple business sense.

QUOTE(shaun'yeap @ Dec 6 2011, 09:39 PM)
iPhone4 & iPhone4s with the same design, do they need to model the accessories again? =.=||
*
they are a bit different in button placements... but most cases will still work for the 4S

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 6 2011, 10:08 PM)
Wouldn't the Galaxy Nexus have the upper hand then, since everyone, instead of just the insiders, knows the dimensions of the phone and therefore, can design cases that fits it? Case makers are taking the wait and see approach here compared to iPhone.

Otherwise, why don't Samsung make their move then, create their own line of cases and covers, and make them available the moment the phone launches? In the case of the Note, avid users had to resort to buying online instead of buying them off Samsung local stores here. OR is Samsung anticipating the purchasers of their phones to not accessorize? Or is there any truth to this article?

Couldn't be coz Samsung themselves sell their official accessories, but why limit their availability to UK or online only? No confidence in their audience to buy one?
*
I think you've already answered your own question... or is it rhetoric to begin with? biggrin.gif

as for the article, just read the comments, nuff said.
