QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 29 2011, 12:21 AM)
I'm rather conservative when using my gadgets, so I don't overclock them.

The phone was generating heat while I was using it, surfing, downloading stuff while it's connected to 3G/HSDPA network.

I thought it would not generate much heat at all. So, hot pocket ahead, still.  sweat.gif
*
Actually, I agree and I think that is also part of the reasons why the processor is underclocked to run at 1.2.

But I'm just saying the potential that this processor has is pretty high. icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Nov 29 2011, 12:21 AM)
My mistake as I thought S2's audio hole was at bottom. Must be too much GNex photos.  blush.gif
For my experience from Maxis to U Mobile... the only bill shock I get was, the bill was well within limit, or cheap in comparison.  rclxm9.gif

Back then when I was signed with Maxis plan, I constantly have problems sharing photos to FB using the FB app. Halfway might get timed out or just hanged. But with U mobile's network, never face this problem so far. Maybe because the network still not many people yet, so I better enjoy it while I can.  biggrin.gif
*
Another happy customer feedback on U Mobile (another one being one of my close friend)

what about call and sms services?

I think I'll try out U mobile once GNex is in my hands happy.gif
I mean their price is really attractive.

May i suggest you put Google name it our thread topic. Should be Google Galaxy Nexus instead of just Galaxy Nexus. We should be proud with Google names as it's Google phone and not Samsung (though Samsung is the manufacturer)
So it would be GGN or GNex instead or SGN. SGN should go for Galaxy Note :-)
*
Seriously, I've been contemplating to do that.. (I have done my research tongue.gif) but the problem is no one in the web refers it as Google Galaxy Nexus hmm.gif
At most, it is just Galaxy Nexus, or most widely called Samsung GN =/
I agree (obviously) to least associate this phone with Samsung's name, hence the title.

In the end I've decided to keep it as Galaxy Nexus to avoid confusion for people who are interested in this phone,
and to keep the name short and simple. sweat.gif

btw, PhoneArena review is up

Now can't decide whether to get GNex or Prime cry.gif

they're both different product, GNex is a phone, while Prime is a tablet.

you'll have to set your priorities first, which is more important? laugh.gif

Sgs2 will get it next month, well.. "hopefully" get it next month sweat.gif

I guess manufacturing the Nexus has its advantages
getting early access on the ICS source code, thus being able to update their own line of phones earlier than the others smile.gif

Yes i realize that, what im trying to say is i love fast shutter speed camera.

Lets say a funny moment with your friends that last for only few seconds.
Something like that. biggrin.gif

A typical DSLR can power on----> focus---press shutter button--->shutter opens and image captured, all in less than 1 second? Slightly of topic but yeah.. biggrin.gif

yea, but a typical DSLR also cost more than the phone itself sweat.gif

erm.... i do follow note thread too.
some ppl said laggy, some ppl said smooth. (probably got something to do with installed apps)

so i hv no idea who to listen to... sad.gif

I have a friend who bought the Note and also happen to play with one during the road show. From what I see, only when pinch to zoom in home screen lags, and also when browsing through the files in the note app lags, otherwise most of the time the phone is actually smooth. Also when there are too many background tasks going on the pen will have a slight delay.

Apparently FM radio is included?

QUOTE
I was worried that the Nexus wouldn't include an FM radio, but it appears there is a rebranded BCM4430 (Samsung SWB-B42) in it. Now all I have to do is find the scratch to buy one (whenever it is released (Dec. 12?)).

stringfellow mind testing this after you got your phone?

btw...

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 2 2011, 09:35 AM)
As for testing the headphone/built-in DAC quality, I don't have any other Google Nexus/Nexus S to compare to. I have my own setup with my iPod Classic+Headamp Pico via ALO LOD for unfettered digital quality transfer and processing, so I'm happy with that setup more than any of the setup on the Note or GN. With the built-in headphone jack, I could not discern any considerable differences nor would I bother if there is any. To me, any built-in DAC is incomparable with a separate DAC/Amp. Hence me going the Headamp Pico route. I don't like using a phone as a music player exclusively per se, that way, I'll lose a music player and a phone when the battery runs out. Not sure if Headamp Pico would work LOD with the GN.
*
iPod Classic is one of the best music player in terms of audio quality. If the GNex can come any close to it, needless to say it has performed pretty darn well.

have you tried playing FLAC or APE files?

ok, I'm mainly concerned whether Google Music supports the 2 formats or not. Even though I know aftermarket player like PowerAmp does. smile.gif

dude i know it's hard to choose (different OS, hardware etc.) but if you had to choose between the ipnone4S & G.Nexus which phone would you go for?
*
I think this is up to personal preference, its a very subjective argument.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 2 2011, 07:58 PM)
If you think that Note screen is already fantastic, the Nexus is out of this world. The ppi on this screen is so high, i cant differentiate pixels anymore. I love densely packed screen, so this is the ultimate disolay yoi can get at this moment. Fantastic!

And so snappy! Ive taxed this by launching Twitter, Facebook, DICE player, 5 tabs of web browsers, playinf music on "3" oon the background,  and still it runs smooth like butter! Unbelievable!

Just signed up for a RM28 prepaid data plan with U-Mobile and together with my YES4G, it should cover my needs.

Cant stop looking at the screen!
*
I hate you now... dry.gif

just kidding, thanks for all the feedback! tongue.gif

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 2 2011, 08:25 PM)
In terms of raw power, i admit the Note holds that title. But in terms of presentation, efficiency and finesse, nothing beats the Nexus now.

I tried Shadowgun on Nexus, the game stuttered before failing miserably. Shadowgun on Note looks like it is made for it. Both the Note and Nexus is powerful enough to run untouched MKVs. I feel that it's the OS efficiency of ICS that made the Nexus snappy as it is. I cannot imagine Note on ICS, that thing is going to scream!

Either that, or Google has some deep software-hardware optimization with the Nexus, that I was seriously doing a double take, am i using an Android device or an iOS device. I'm grown used to the snappiness of my iPhone4S, and now I dare say that the Nexus matches it in every way. Bravo, Google! I never thought there would come a time when I can claim an Android device as snappy as an iOS device, but Google has done it with the Nexus!

Maybe all I needed to do with the Note is strip it down to the basic pure Google interface to get it this snappy. But I've set it up as how I wanted it already, so it will stay.
*
I've been saying that all this while.

Nexus S has already a proven track record of optimization, with its single core 1Ghz cpu being as fast as most of the dual core phones out there. It seems Galaxy Nexus is having the same "Nexus" genes here.

few months later with all the stable custom ROMs, this phone is gonna rock.
