Ur car engine doesn't use naked top to release heat but radiator... rolleyes.gif

Maybe the main purpose of engine cover is for fun, but for Proton Saga, water can seep through the gap between front hood and bumper during rainy day when the car is running, the droplet will drop on top of your engine...try to open your hood and see inside, muddy water mark spread all over the inner surface of hood, so for your engine too... rolleyes.gif

nod.gif But with engine cover the engine bay looks neater & tidier, don't u think? wink.gif Myvi's engine bay quite tidy & neat to be honest.. CamPro engine bay (without the cover) is one of the messiest I've seen (also Mitsu's 4Gxx engine)..

Still contemplating whether to remove my cover or not laugh.gif Need to remove to clean anyway, cos dono why my engine cover very sticky, all the dust is sticking onto it.

sticky coz got oil attachment on its surface.

i think covers in proton are to make the engine bay tidy-looking only. if wanna provide more advantage, i would say to avoid direct water contact at the sparkplugs entry.

I didn't say the engine rely on it's shell to release heat. I'm saying that the cover traps heat.

Trapped heat may not cause your engine to overheat, but it will coz plastic and rubber parts underneath the cover (eg. cables, wires) to wear out faster. sweat.gif

fuuuu... just left this thread for not even one week, the pages grow more than 10 pages dy. btw, just back from terengganu where my work site is. i've rent a saga fl 1.3 that day, the performance is far compare to my flx 1.3. flx pickup is far better, and during cruising at 100 kmph, rpm for fl is 3,000 rpm meanwhile flx is only 2,300 rpm. full tank for fl can get around 300 km only while flx can achieve nearly 400 km.

btw, read thru all the pages previously, the 1.6 flx will also got some delay when accelerate because that's the characteristic of cvt since the pedal is electronic type... anyhow compare cvt to auto transmission, cvt get a better 0 to 100 kmph because there's no loss of power during cruising.

Oh by the way, something for the rumour mill (Dunno it's true or just sale bull from my SA, but just FYI):

- Exora Turbo? sudah cancelled. Next Exora variant is with CVT.
- Next year car increase price across all brands, at least RM2k. Sounds suspiciously like BS, but the SA show me the memo dunno from who.
- More stringent loan rules next year as per BNM's guidelines. Just like the new credit card guidelines announced recently.

Maybe some of you can check with your SA or Proton insiders, if it's not true then I'll know this SA can trust or not.

dn't think the exora turbo is cancelled...a few showroom model has been produced
and most probably with CVT somemore

the delay is due to cvt system is doing calculation for the gear shifting.. but the delay less than a second

Added on December 1, 2011, 1:06 pmbut what I realise delay in automatic transmission compare to cvt, the AT delay is more noticeable
