Anyone suffers steering wheel vibrates and rattles when go through bumpy uneven roads with FLX?
*
QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 24 2011, 12:06 PM)
its normal...u mean the horn part is it?
it's normal...this is the disadvantage of the steering that the horn part isn't attached to it
*
yeah, that's normal for proton's car... tongue.gif
I've raised the problem to SC and what they did is they loosened the middle part of the steering and attached/paste something (dunno what it is) and since then no more rattles at steering.
*
you can DIY yourself. what i did, slip in a small piece of paper or tissue paper into the steering gaps... done! laugh.gif

dear TS, few people comment about the wrong title issue which should be V17 instead of V16, and still yet not corrected...

finally my car sent for inspection at COE, now leaving my car alone for those Proton guy to find out the cause of jerking... all complain matter issue to them, and the guy who inspect my car also shocked to see gear knob too tight...
and that guy who inspect my car said, they will drive my car to traffic jam area to try that jerk (mean they never know about jerking issue before this)...  hmm.gif

Added on November 24, 2011, 10:57 amwondering how much will be charged for changing faulty part or re-tune ECU? the estimated cost stated 'TBA'...
*
got back my car, and here's the result :

send my car at 8.00am, and get back my car at 5.00pm.. service center long queue of car to service
Attached Image

after got back my car, i found that they added a additional fuel hose attached to the power steering oil container
or maybe that black hose already exist before service, any FLX user can confirm that?
Attached Image

and here's my invoice for the repair work
Attached Image

referring to that invoice, it's CONFIRMED proton did recall FLX for item 5 (cvt oil pump) and item 6 (fuel hose)...
while regarding the jerking issue, they commented by 'replace oil pump and clutch adaptation'...

service cost : RM 0.00 brows.gif

conclusion for the work done, my car is smoother and jerk issue almost zero... thumbup.gif

I tink mine oso quite tight. just notice after read ur post.
and do you have a problem with the gear knob when shifting to "R"?
sometime mine like din engage althou speedo panel did show "R" (occur when i not able to shift accurately to "R" position then try to adjust the gear knob back to accurate "R" position)
then ned to shift to "P" or "N" or "D" only able to engage reverse gear after tat. rclxub.gif
*
yeah, something not right with the gear knob... when we shift to 'D', slightly small force pushing it to 'N', but.. before the knob reach the border of 'D/N', the gear recognize it as 'N' already.

Is this for cvt model only or manual also affected? I got my car in october, maybe manufactured in september cause found sticker with september date sticked to plastic covering the seat.
*
i think this affected both FLX MT/CVT cause the additional fuel hose not related to CVT... you can try make a call to Proton i-Care to confirm this...

Another i needed to check with you. FLX has a 40L fuel tank right? How come the light comes on, and I can usually pump only 30L ... there is another 10L, and the light flashes already?
*
this issue already discussed many time during last thread v16... the extra 10L is reserved... so you won't able to pump up to 40L... sweat.gif

sorry my bad. used handphone so quality not good. but just for info, yesterday i saw a few trailer with the FLX SE. Seems that PROTON is sending all the cars to their logistic. But still no info on launching date..
IMHO the fire red looks far more better than previous pre-facelift SAGA SE plum red.
*
photo quality doesn't matter, as long you gave us the leak. yeah, the new red body is far better and look fierce... laugh.gif

*
i use to cruise at that speed most of the time and able to get 7.3 L / 100KM,
but now i changing my driving style where cruising at between 90 to 100 kmph... laugh.gif

QUOTE(dares @ Nov 26 2011, 11:19 AM)
Driving slow with low RPM doesn't necessarily means save fuel, because you reach your destination slower.
If you're a MT driver, you can dyno your car to observe the RPM range where your engine performs the most efficient, then try to keep driving and shifting in that range for optimum fuel efficiency.
For AT drivers....no choice  biggrin.gif
*
yeah, agree with that, low RPM doesn't mean save fuel.
every car have the 'optimum/eco' speed where delivery the best performance meanwhile save fuel efficiently
so far i tried few constant speed for my FLX CVT, and every re-fuel, i will change to different constant speed
and realised that the best 'eco' speed is between 90 to 100 kmph... icon_idea.gif

Added on November 26, 2011, 11:46 ambtw, here's my average FC for different speed :
80~90 kmph : 68+/- KM per bar
90~100 kmph : 75+/- KM per bar
100~110 kmph : 70+/- KM per bar
110~140 kmph : 65+/- KM per bar
140~180 kmph : 55+/- KM per bar
