By the way, y not go to proton dealership to test. Some SA don't mind you trashing their car. Just put in a good word for them in your article.

lul, just read yesterday's TheSun (yes, kinda late to read yesterday's paper tongue.gif) and read about Y.S.Khong's article about the Saga FLX SE.

I am quite surprised that despite all the spirited driving by his team (Yap and some malay chap) and all those blah blah blahs about keeping up with the Exora Bold which is part of the media drive test, they can only say it is capable of doing 165kph, which is obviously Xerox'ed from the brochure. I wondered how spirited is their so called spirited driving. rolleyes.gif

yeah, that article.

Funny how he writes so little everytime when it comes to local cars (the Exora then, Maivee LB, now the Saga) but always writes almost the whole page when it comes to continentals especially the F10 5 series. doh.gif

Looks like he didn't actually drove up to 165, he was simply citing the top speed from the brochure.

Well it was no better then the Star's Motoring review, which heaped praises on the Exora bold while spoke little about the FLX SE in the same article.

Hi Eric, Bro, yes, we know this has been discussed like 15000+ times but every once in a while we should allow a review right?  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif

Anyway on highway, the FC didn't vary much from city driving if you were driving your car above 140km/h which was quite fun actually. It could reach 160km/h with a little effort, only i couldn't reach the acclaimed 165km/h top speed due to inconsiderate lorry drivers cutting into my fast lane ever so often, forcing me to brake and avoid an accident....

Anyway Bro Zero5177, yes the change from the Aichi Kikai to Getrag GB did have some changes. The RPM for 110 km/h at 5th gear has been reduced like 300rpms. Around 8% better. At top speed, your engine need not have to work so hard.

Erm, CVT petrol consumption, dunno about that, I am using the manual. However according to Proton the CVT will outperform the FL's Auto fuel consumption.

*
Nice, Hardly find Manual driver to ask about this sweat.gif
Btw u guys have any idea why most auto car have longer gear ratio compared to manual? example flx CVT cruise about 2.6k rpm at 120km/h while manual already touch 3k rpm at 100...
Note: exception for tri-speed auto car...

Hi Bros.... notworthy.gif

Time 2share another DIY mod to my trusty 1.3FL Exec Auto.... blush.gif

Yup, as previously mentioned in earlier pages, me was waiting for delivery of ordered AMT Power Cushion Buffers for front & rear springs.
Well, they arrived earlier this morning and me straightaway got down to installing them! Haha! rclxm9.gif

As they say, pics say a thousand words...so here they are :
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Me went for a short spin arnd the block, testing the suspension feel over uneven roads & even humps/bumps!
Wat can I say? Not bad...suspension felt firmer like having stiffer shocks/springs and the ride was more solid overall! thumbup.gif

Feel worthwhile small investment for a better ride... tongue.gif rolleyes.gif

ps. Was supplied with Size C for the Front Springs & Size B for the Rear. However need to cut abt 3.5cm from ends of each Buffer for the Rear to get a good fit. rolleyes.gif

Guys. Sorry for interrupt.

I just want to know what is the best petrol for your car. Right now I'm on Petronas. Never tried other petrol, such as Shell, Esso, Caltex etc.

Some people said that Shell is better than Petronas? Izzit true? Right now I'm spending around RM50/week for my Saga FL. I'm not really the use the car everyday though. If I use Shell can save more money?

Esso is the best? You've tried all of them right?

When I get the car, It's filled with Shell. I'm not really sure about the performance but the sound is really noise. When I switch to Petronas, the engine is sound-less.
