hye, my hdd kong already and i am thinking to replace it. (I run disk check and disk doctor in ASC it stuck in 7% and loop restart the laptop)

1. how to get my windows back bcos i dont want to use pirate windows?
2. Is it good i update my bios after replacing hdd? now mine is 1.17

1. You can get the Win 7 HP ISO from google and use back the cd-key from the sticker below the notebook.
2. Should be no problem.

You put higher, it will just downclock.

boot into BIOS, change display to "discrete" instead of "hybrid".

better buy universal adapter..can use on any laptop..prefer USNA..

I just realize that I play game (default setting) consistent 60fps!


I think update driver via AMD official might having issue since AMD not provide Switchable GPU, feel stick with default driver
(seem Ubuntu patch hardware?)

how long is the service? give them 2 weeks? 1 month? this is my main comp. can't afford to be away for long.

u can bring ur lappy on the service center which will be lot way faster than waiting for their arrival.

hey guys, my acer 3820TG the alphabet "P" from the keyboard, the clip already spoil thus the key keeps dropping. Anybody know how much to fix it? And also what is the resale value of the laptop? I really under utilizing it since i use my desktop 99% of the time

recently there was a power outage and my 3820tg shuts down abruptly (no batteries).
on my next boot up, the graphic goes to a really low reso. windows 7 proceed to install a vga compatible controller, which then recognized as intel hd graphic.

ive always use my 6550m, made it discrete in bios. but now windows doesnt detect any ati card. ive tried instally catalyst 13.4 and i only got the error "cannot load driver detection" or something. it looks like my ati card is fried so windows could only detect the intel's.

ive even went as far as flashing the modded 1.19 bios and set it to peg but the catalyst installer cant detect them. ive done driversweep, which doesnt do much because it cant remove the intel's hd graphic (but of course i did uninstall amd's drivers, and then attempt to reinstall). disabled auto driver update so it would stop keep reinstalling intels driver after ive uninstall(which then would stay as standard vga driver).

tl;dr
blackout, laptop shutdown. next boot, windows is on intel gpu with no way to use my ati gpu back.

Five years using 4820TG, still serving me good. Power adapter kaput and battery also Kong but still working fine till today.

I somewhat gone into gpu problem, my driver kept crashing giving me bsod, and updating driver, somehow made my screen not turning on, i had to keep restarting hoping to display the bios to go into it to change to switchable graphic and remove the gpu driver, i wanna know how can i install the driver correctly without having a future bsod that might give me same problem again?

How'd you managed to update it? I'm still on the original windows 7 home premium that was preinstalled.

I reserved it. It prompt me to install but during upgrade it always fail. It would say "we couldn't upgrade the system reserve partition". Does this mean its unable to modify the recovery partition?
