1. I got so fed up with the sluggishness I clean installed win7 without backup. Will Acer somehow gimme a 'default' backup?

2. I can't play any cool games anymore. It will auto shut down after getting too hot. My laptop cooler doesn't help. Is this because I'm using win7 clean?

Using 4820tg with 5470.

wanna play bf3 with 60 fps is impossible.. no point OC GPU.. if u really wanna OC.. ur CPU also need OC i dun think can go that further either.. since low is still playable..

Just installed the new ATI driver.
Guess what? The setting of brightness on 3820TG is finally working with the new driver.

How long it took? 2 years+ for ATI to fix this.

only me or anyone notice that, when running in battery mode (Intel GPU) screen contrast changing,

anyone know how can i disable the intel graphic card when using battery? i mean i want to use the ati graphic all the time and disable switchable graphics

I'm owning this laptop, am thinking of packing more RAM into this little lappy. Will it run 8GB RAM?

My video playback is kinda lack since I use some graphic heavy desktop customization. Will adding RAM help?

By the way the heating problem is serious on my laptop.

it support 8GB no problem.. just update new ati driver 12.6 WHQL..

u need a cooler pad.. u can google using mpc-hc + madvr + lav filter for video playback or update ur flash player..

by the way ngkhanmein, you know how to make permenent setting for Intel Graphics, everytime change GPU, it's keep change to default, which enable display power saving that changing Display Contrast

Most 3rd party converter report that Intel GPU rather then AMD GPU.

Now my friend's 4820TG getting overheat and bluescreen issue, ask him go to clean dust and replace thermal compound...

I install the 12.8whql in discrete mode, and its working fine.

But when i restart and switch to switchable mode, it keep getting blue screen. Idk what happen so can anyone assist? Tq..

^most likely 12.8 doesn't support yours.
The HP DV6 also didn't support 12.8

Did you check the specs of the processor?
8GB is the max it can go.

mine also mesti overheat and auto shutdown. cannot use long hours or need to use cooler. hot weather need aircon to cool down.
