Hi all,

For my ride, I noticed that sometimes the temp needle touches the mid line, and at times it falls below it somewhere between middle of the mid line and one below it. When it falls is when it's rainy or constantly moving with airflow. When I'm stationary it seems to be up there in the middle. So looking around the radiator, I noticed that there is a gap between the radiator and fan shroud.

Can anyone help check in their Iswara whether there is a gap there? What can I use to seal up the gap so that when the fan turns, all the air is actually sucked THROUGH the radiator rather than some from this gap? Thanks!!

QUOTE(DarkerSiang @ Jan 21 2012, 04:20 PM)
Hey guys, I have a question on here. I have a 2002 years model Iswara with manual transmission. When my car is on low rpm, the car's dashboard and steering vibrating vigorously and it stop to vibrate when I rev the engine a little bit. Before this, I had sat inside my relative's saga which is older than mine and his car is very stable, dashboard and steering would not vibrate during low rpm and runs smoothly. Is it anyway to make my car same as him ?

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jan 22 2012, 01:19 AM)
anyone got recommendations for spark plug cables for my iswara 1999 model AT. (forgot the engine model  sweat.gif )
it has 4 cables/plugs

need to change mine cuz of some power leakage, causing alternator whines on my speakers and a bit of mis firings during high rev which is kinda wasting FC :/

is this an accurate measure? or just rough? if rough measure, please do take an accurate km/l measure over few tankfuls then only see what to do next. if bad, could be air filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, plug cables, tuning, so many possibilities....

my iswara 1.3 fc is between 10-11km/l mainly city use (no highway) but some get higher than this.

QUOTE(BlackPen @ Jan 22 2012, 04:47 PM)
I want to ask about FC problem..my saga 1.3(M) rm30 only can run around 125km++ . Any suggestion? bad FC?  icon_question.gif

yeah it's 45 liters..... if you are asking how much full tank, you're not measuring it properly smile.gif if you measure it properly, there is no need to know how much full tank.... it's been mentioned before...

1. pump full tank let it auto stop
2. reset meter or take reading of odometer
3. drive as normal
4. at any time, even at 1/2 tank, go pump full tank let it autostop
5. take reading of mileage traveled/liters pumped - this is your accurate km/l reading.

If you want to track even better, go sign up for free account at fuelly.com and use that to track. Mine's about 10.2 l/100km or 9.80 km/l averaged out over close to 5k in mileage....

Just curious, what did you measure with the multimter? Ohm?

QUOTE(Notoriez @ Jan 27 2012, 10:22 PM)
Good enough. Abit more power flow compared to ori bougicord (which is also the best cable)...tested using my friends multimeter...

Been using this for past 2 years, no issue with ICE interference....

You needto find a trusted mechanic or a friend who's familiar in cars to test/check the car. I've created a thread before on buying used cars, maybe you can get some tips there... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1621478&hl=

But iswara generally is a simple car. Make sure engine gearbox brakes steering ok. Check for any water leaks in boot. All the best!

QUOTE(salimbest83 @ Jan 30 2012, 08:56 AM)
thanks for reply.
but since i dont own a car, really dunno how to test drive a car lor.
got license but very2 noob if drive doh.gif

I thnk one way to tell is engine speed at 5th gear at 80km/h.... If it's 2400-2500 then guess it's the same gearbox as 1.3/1.5....

QUOTE(cyanboy @ Jan 30 2012, 06:15 PM)
Then maybe i looked wrongly  doh.gif
But in past versions of this thread (V10+)  had been mentioned before about comparison with LMST gearbox and conventional iswara/wira 1.3 and 1.5 gearbox. LMST gearbox has either VRAC/VRBE. Some claimed they have RRAE variant on their iswara too... Perhaps they mean the final drive ratio is the same?

So pray for VRBE gearbox intalled in your car... Hehe...

130k mileage for a 7 year old car is not high in my opinion.... averages to around 18.5k per year or 360km/week... make sure the engine is well taken care of (regular oil change) and timing belt changed recently.

but then again, everyone knows how easy it is to adjust the car's odometer..... sad.gif

Added on January 30, 2012, 9:56 pmhow about those 2007 last batch iswaras? think you can probably nego around 10-13k for a good one....

dont trust the odometer mileage alone, it can be adjusted easily.... look for service records if possible, look for other signs... eg tyre change, brake cluch pedal rubber wear, etc....

Don't count on this.... Last time i bought a second hand car, went to puspakom all passd (i was there witnessing the test, and no, there was nothing hanky panky going on i don't believe in any fom of monetary 'encouragement') and puspakom stickers all on the windows.

Then when i sold the car less than 1 year later, went back to same puspakom and they failed the windscreen test!!! I asked how come last time passed then? They shrugged and said dont know. They even test and showed me e reading which was below 70vlt..

Side rear is 50vlt so that should pass easily unless you really have dark tint. So if front fail, you'll need to remove the front film and then retest and pay the inspection fee again. Make sure you talk to seller about this up front and if possible, go for the inspection together and see it.

So just to share my experience... smile.gif

QUOTE(cyanboy @ Jan 31 2012, 11:27 PM)
Dun worry, if you got runner to do it, they might get the tint passed for you...
My VLT is on spec although it has been tinted... But not those too dark one la... Front one didn't tinted for me... But my side windows all tinted and sticked with puspakom stickers... Even the rear windscreen bubble bubble also pass with puspakom sticker... I photocopied my puspakom cert just in case... So stated there all pass although tinted. lol...

not really. i've seen some cars passed it and like i said my prev ride passed it once. i don't think i'm that 'lucky' to be 1 in 10.. lol it all depends on the VLT. 70 is the min for the front, and most film claims that they are jpj compliant, yes the film is let's say 75vlt but a lot of people forget that the windscreen glass itself blocks off a bit. in the case of my previous car, it was a bit below, i think around 63... and that was already visibly quite dark.

for proton's i think the windscreen does not have much tint so it probably will be 1-5% block for VLT? just guessing here.

QUOTE(DaBestOne @ Feb 1 2012, 05:55 PM)
9 out of 10 times, Puspakom will tear off your tint when you send your car for inspection, no matter how high the VLT of the films wink.gif That's how they WORK laugh.gif

rclxub.gif is 6.28L/100km the average?? It's unbelievable to achieve that level of FC for iswara...

QUOTE(cyanboy @ Feb 3 2012, 05:41 AM)
Mine LMST 6.28L per 100km... Which is 16km per litre... Fully stock rev not more than 3000rpm and little bit town driving...

But need to go pump full tank after trip more accurate la...

what is your average fc on town driving?

QUOTE(cyanboy @ Feb 3 2012, 10:53 PM)
This FC is recorded on FULL highway from KL to Muar... Plus a little town driving at there... I went down after I got my car just 2 weeks...
Erm, its fully stock setup from proton doh.gif :
1. 1 driver 2 passenger.
2. No luggage basis.
3. Not stock mia barang is cheapo vacuum meter installed... brows.gif

I keep my eye on my RPM cause try not to rev more than 2500 rpm... Then counter balance with vacuum meter not less than 12cm/Hg or 5 inch/Hg during acceleration...
But to pecut 110km/h sure touching 3000rpm... Whole journey only 110km/h max 130km/h... So control right leg...

Btw DaBestOne,
Speed, RPM, Vacuum all use... When I driving I priorities vacuum reading then only RPM... They assist my right leg and the timing to change gear... properly...

I dunno my fc was that good  hmm.gif
