Mainjet is the bigger screw below the smaller mixture screw... And there is a lot more to carb tuning other than just turning the few screws. Yes i agree that proper tuing needs to be done with equipment to measure co in the exhaust for example..

QUOTE(Codyx @ Feb 25 2012, 11:11 PM)
the thing is....the term 'A/F tuning' every mech can do no matter who wor, they charge like 20 buck also claiming by nose...

the the confusion is why i need to let the mentioned 'person' above to tune for like 70 bucks? with the same work....what's the difference?

that's the point ><.....AFAIK a/f tuning is like pusing few screws and some say just they reset the screw position to default setting only...so nothing had been done? no testing?

uncle fred told me he also reset the a/f but he TUNE the 'main jet' which i have no idea about

so the question lies with" Car Tuning or A/F Tuning " which one is it and how they gonna do on individual topic

sorry for my amateurish question...realli confuse lo... ><

isnt that why you should use better oil more?

if rm70 budget, just use any mainstream mineral oil you see fit.

Hi all,

Still on my DIY trial and error AF tuning... I noticed if I screw in the AF screw at one point the RPM will drop and engine will shudder. Then I screw out about 2 complete turns and RPM will be around 900-1k. At this point, I checked the screw and it's at the point where the threads on the screw is not visible (refer to photo). Can anyone help check in their iswara, is this the position for their AF screw?

Thanks!!

Yes i've seen the original article for this and done this... And the af screw is really easy to turn if you know how.. A small flat screwdriver or modified spark plug will help.

My issue is, when engine feel like dying and i turn the screw outwards, the rpm goes up very quickly to 1.1k... So i should turn the screw back in again until 800-900 rpm?

Hi, sorry to hear of your unfortunate incident.... timing belt putus at what mileage? Just curious....

Saga (Iswara) clutch is cable operated, not hydraulic. No clutch fluid, just a cable.

QUOTE(afsarudy @ Mar 6 2012, 12:54 PM)
Allo guys....
I joined LYN long time edy but only realize this thread exist.
(I only go to Hobbies thread sweat.gif)
Anyway, I'm one of the proud Saga LMST 2006 Edition owner (Sunset Orange).
Last hari raya (around August 2010), otw balik kampung at Jerteh there, suddenly my timing belt putus one (that time donno yet).
Then I just left it at the road side. Later that night, cops call me said that my car kena pecah and some of spare parts missing. sweat.gif
I went back and check, got a lot of parts missing especially interior.
Handbrake knob gone, gear knob gone, coin plate gone, radio/cd player gone, rear speaker gone, a lot la gone. cry.gif
So now it manage to run again after changing rod and make top-overhaul (due to snapped timing belt).
And now I am here to know more about my Saga. In order to perfecting it again.

Hope otai2 here can give me guide and can show me @ give me info on where to find all the parts cheap2 @ where can I seek for parts replacement instead of buying ori parts.

Added on March 6, 2012, 12:59 pmOtai2, wanna ask something la.
Our Saga clutch using cable or hydraulic one?

some people here seems to have positive results with uncle fred aka fstrader. go try. assuming spark plugs ok, air filter ok...

90km/h already 3.3 to 3.5k? wow... i don't know mine is not auto, but for manual 80km/h is 2.5k 110km/h is about 3.5k

QUOTE(alexooi17 @ Mar 6 2012, 01:24 PM)
haiz...i was looking forward to maybe retune the carb ..does this help?

and one more thing..when u floor the pedal, what is the top speed n RPM for it ?? mine go 90 the RPM is around 3.3-3.5k
*

Added on March 6, 2012, 2:08 pmdon't think clutch cable can snap so easily... but then again... smile.gif

if you haven't changed it for a long time, go buy it and diy change very easy. i bought mine for RM32 ori proton cable (don't bother using oem/imitation parts, later squeak again). if it's still squeaky after change sometimes it's the cable near the pedal rubbing against other parts, spray some wd40 there and it will be smooth and silent.

rear saga headlamp?????

rear lamp you mean? aeroback or sedan?

If aeroback you just remove all the plastic panel in the boot area, so that you can access the back of the rear light. Then just remove the screws you see and carefully take it out.... careful smile.gif

QUOTE(afsarudy @ Mar 6 2012, 04:23 PM)
GUys, do you know how to disassemble rear Saga head lamp?
Mine like bocor then masuk air already la. maybe the glue not strong already la. Got any method to fix it ha?

Wah that one don't know..... you're talking about removing the outer plastic cover of the lamp? like this lamp?
http://www.mudah.my/Iswara+aeroback+rear+lamp-13430697.htm

That one I think you have to be very careful... why not just see where the hole is and seal it (after taking out all the water of course)

QUOTE(afsarudy @ Mar 6 2012, 04:56 PM)
Yeah rear lamp. laugh.gif
I manage to take it out but what I mean is to take out the white cover from the casing.

those would be power steering belt, alternator belt and aircond belt. 3 belts all together should cost less than RM30 for good one. i bought the belts, bring to nearby shell station for engine oil change asked mechanic to change charged rm10 for the labor. smile.gif

QUOTE(afsarudy @ Mar 7 2012, 02:20 PM)

Added on March 7, 2012, 2:26 pmOne more thing, what is other belt in our engine?
I just change my timing belt then my mechanic said rather change other belt too for safety.
So what I want to know is, what are the name of other belt so that I can look for it @ I can ask spare part shop to buy it.
Huhuhu...
